HexClad’s first bakeware collection is a six-piece set with four pan types, a baking sheet and a cooling rack. In the only hands-on performance account available here, a Tom’s Guide reporter said peanut-butter cookies baked evenly golden and released and cleaned up easily. That was one demonstration—not a controlled comparison or a test of long-term durability.
What comes in HexClad’s six-piece bakeware set?
The set combines pans for cakes and bars with a sheet pan and rack. HexClad’s launch announcement lists these pieces:
| Piece | Dimensions or material |
|---|---|
| Rectangular cake pan | 9 × 13 inches |
| Round cake pans | Two pans, each 9 inches |
| Square cake pan | 8 × 8 inches |
| Medium baking sheet | 10 × 15 inches |
| Cooling rack | 9.5 × 14.5 inches; stainless steel |
HexClad says the rack fits inside the medium baking sheet. The company positions the pans for items including layer cakes, brownies, bar cookies, cornbread, rolls and crumbles, while the sheet pan is intended for cookies, pastries and sheet-pan dinners. HexClad’s bakeware page has the company’s full product description.
How does the hybrid surface work?
HexClad describes the pans as tri-ply, with an aluminum core, laser-etched stainless-steel peaks and PFAS-free TerraBond ceramic nonstick in the valleys. The company says this arrangement is designed to combine baking consistency with easier food release. Those are manufacturer specifications and claims, not independent findings.

These are company-reported development figures; they do not establish how the pans compare with other bakeware or how they hold up over years of use.
What happened in the reported cookie demonstration?
In an October 1, 2026, hands-on report, Tom’s Guide journalist Kate Kozuch described baking peanut-butter cookies on the HexClad sheet pan alongside chef Nancy Silverton. Kozuch reported evenly golden cookies, including on the undersides, with browned edges and soft centers. She also said the cookies released easily and cleanup was easy. That account describes one recipe and one demonstration. It does not report a side-by-side comparison with other pans, quantified temperature measurements, or long-term wear testing. It therefore supports a limited observation about those cookies, not a conclusion that every recipe will brown evenly or that the pans avoid hot spots in all ovens. HexClad’s broader performance and durability claims have not been independently established by the sources cited here.
What does HexClad claim about heat, utensils and cleaning?
HexClad lists the bakeware as oven-safe up to 900°F, dishwasher-safe and compatible with metal utensils, and says it is resistant to warping. These are the manufacturer’s published claims, not independently verified test results. Check the current official product and care information for instructions before use.

Tom’s Guide reported that HexClad advised against PAM and other aerosol cooking sprays because residue can compromise nonstick performance. The report says the company suggested butter or a neutral oil when greasing is needed. As care guidance can change, consult HexClad’s current instructions rather than treating that reported advice as a complete maintenance guide.
What did the set cost at launch?
HexClad’s September 24, 2026, launch announcement said individual pieces and sets ranged from $179 to $399 during the presale period, with orders expected to begin shipping by October 5. Is HexClad bakeware worth considering?
The collection is aimed at people who want a coordinated set and are interested in trying HexClad’s hybrid surface for baking. The cookie demonstration offers a positive but narrow firsthand report. It does not answer whether the set outperforms less expensive bakeware, or whether its surface and pans remain durable over extended use.
For a meaningful comparison, weigh the included pieces and their dimensions against your needs, check the current price and care requirements, and look for performance and durability evidence based on comparable recipes and longer-term use. The available account does not provide a head-to-head score on those measures.
