Colorlib’s Hero V11 is a free downloadable HTML/CSS hero section with a small vanilla-JavaScript interaction. It does not require Bootstrap files, jQuery, or plugins, though Colorlib says it can be added to Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. The template is listed as released in September 2026, licensed under CC BY 3.0, and sized at 159 KB. Its central feature is an animated outdoor scene built in CSS, with a play button that opens a video placeholder in a native dialog.

What Hero V11 includes

Colorlib describes Hero V11 as an opening section for an outdoor brand film or landing page. Its scene is created with CSS rather than a video background: a dusk sky shifts, stars twinkle, a sun sets, and three mountain ranges move at different speeds. The publisher presents the animation as a way to create a cinematic first screen without making the scenery itself a video.

The download is listed at 159 KB. Colorlib identifies September 2026 as its release month and CC BY 3.0 as its license. These are product-page details; the downloaded files and license terms have not been independently reviewed here. See Colorlib’s Hero V11 page for the template listing and attribution information.

Does Hero V11 require Bootstrap?

No. Colorlib describes the template as plain HTML and CSS with a few lines of vanilla JavaScript, and says it does not require Bootstrap files, jQuery, or plugins. The page also says it can be used on its own or placed in Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. Compatibility is a publisher claim, not a result of independently testing each framework version.

Bootstrap is a front-end toolkit with a grid, components, and JavaScript plugins. Its official homepage showed version 5.3.8 when checked, but that current version label does not establish that Hero V11 has been tested against every Bootstrap release. Bootstrap’s own 5.1 examples include a centered hero built with utility classes and example-specific CSS; Bootstrap 4 documentation also described a fluid jumbotron as a flexible, full-width hero-style area. Those are separate approaches, not dependencies of Hero V11.

How the play button and dialog are described

The prominent play control opens a native HTML <dialog> with a 16:9 placeholder player. The placeholder is intended to be replaced by a video element or an embed. Colorlib says the dialog traps focus, closes with Escape, its close control, or a backdrop click, and returns focus to the play button. It also says the animated scene pauses while the dialog is open and movement stops when the visitor has enabled reduced motion.

These interaction and accessibility details are described by Colorlib; they have not been independently tested here. Before using the template on a live site, check the dialog with keyboard-only navigation, screen-reading software, and the actual media you insert. Confirm that the replacement player has suitable controls and that its dimensions and behavior work on the devices your audience uses.

What to check before using the download

  • Attribution and reuse: Review the CC BY 3.0 terms and Colorlib’s attribution information before publishing or modifying the template.
  • Framework fit: Treat the stated Bootstrap 4, 5, and 6 compatibility as the publisher’s claim. Test the page in your own project, especially if you use a customized theme or framework styles that could affect the section.
  • Media replacement: Replace the 16:9 placeholder with your intended video or embed, then verify that the dialog’s sizing, controls, close behavior, and focus handling remain appropriate.
  • Motion and accessibility: Check the reduced-motion behavior and keyboard interaction in your implementation rather than assuming the published description covers every browser or modification.
  • Download details: Colorlib lists the file size as 159 KB; actual downloaded contents and any changes to the listing should be confirmed on the template page.
