The Hawksmoor High Pressure Washer (Toolstation code 44787, model YLQ4630H-110A) is a capable low-cost washer for occasional car cleaning and smaller outdoor jobs, but it is not an obvious choice for frequent or heavy-duty use. In a hands-on review, Expert Reviews found useful cleaning performance alongside budget-feeling construction, awkward assembly and limited control. Toolstation’s listing showed £59.99 including VAT and a two-year warranty when accessed on 4 October 2026; check the current listing for today’s price and availability.
What is the Hawksmoor 108bar washer?
It is a compact, mains-powered pressure washer sold by Toolstation. The product code is 44787 and the model number is YLQ4630H-110A. Those identifiers matter: this review concerns that specific machine, not another Hawksmoor washer.
Toolstation lists a 1400W air-cooled motor, 230V supply, 108bar maximum pressure, 420L/hour maximum flow, a 6m high-pressure hose and an approximate weight of 5kg. Its pack list includes a trigger gun, pressure hose, turbo lance, adjustable spray lance, extension lance, foam sprayer, filtered hose connector, trigger-gun holder, power-cord hook, nozzle-cleaning needle, accessories holder and handle. The retailer also lists a two-year warranty. These are the specifications and kit stated on the Toolstation product page; check the listing for the pack details supplied with a current purchase.
How should you read its pressure and flow figures?
The 108bar figure is a maximum, not the washer’s rated working pressure. The reproduced instructions for model YLQ4630H-110A state 7.2MPa (72bar) rated pressure and 10.8MPa (108bar) maximum allowable pressure. They give rated flow as 4.8L/min, while Toolstation lists a maximum flow of 420L/hour. Those are differently defined figures, so they should not be treated as equivalent measurements or compared as though they describe the same operating condition. The manual also specifies a 5m power cable, a 350ml foam-sprayer tank and a maximum water temperature of 60°C. See the reproduced user-instruction manual for its rated specifications.

How well does it clean?
Stuart Andrews of Expert Reviews assembled and used the washer on a car and around the home and garden, including tarmac, paving, plastic and timber. In his published hands-on review, the adjustable lance removed dried dirt and algae from paving as well as paint splodges. On the car, he used the foam sprayer to apply shampoo, then rinsed away dirt, mud, bird droppings and wheel grime with the lance. He found the rotary jet less aggressive than he expected.
Andrews’s main control caveat is that the variable jet does not offer much nuance. He says it may be too rough for softwood or crumbling tarmac; changing the distance and spray width is the practical way to moderate the effect. Where does the budget show?
The same review identifies several practical compromises. Andrews describes the plastic as cheap-feeling and the assembly guidance as vague or short on detail. On his sample, the cable-hook mount was misaligned, and he found the high-pressure hose thread rough enough that it needed careful handling. The machine has no wheels, so it must be carried rather than rolled.

Andrews also observed operating noise of 83–87dBA while using his sample. This is the reviewer’s reported observation, not a manufacturer noise rating. Taken together, the build and handling complaints are cautions about the particular reviewed unit and the machine’s budget positioning—not evidence that every unit has the same assembly fault.

Is it a better buy than a Bosch Aquatak 110 or Kärcher K2 Horizontal?
Expert Reviews names the Bosch Aquatak 110 and Kärcher K2 Horizontal as alternatives. Its review reports 110bar maximum pressure for both, with maximum flow figures of 330L/hour for the Bosch and 360L/hour for the Kärcher, compared with the Hawksmoor’s Toolstation-listed 108bar maximum and 420L/hour maximum. The competitor figures below are as reported by Expert Reviews, not independently verified here against the manufacturers. Maximum pressure alone does not establish which washer will clean better.

For a fair purchase decision, compare more than the maximum figures: the workload and cleaning frequency you expect, rated as well as maximum output, nozzle and pressure control, hose length and storage, build and assembly, included accessories, warranty and current price. The available review comparison does not establish all those details for the alternatives, so check their current manufacturer or retailer listings before choosing.

Who should buy it?
The Hawksmoor is most persuasive if your needs are occasional: washing a car, cleaning a small patio or deck, or tackling light-to-moderate dirt on outdoor surfaces. Its included foam sprayer and adjustable lance give it useful flexibility for those jobs, according to the reviewer’s sample.

Look at a larger or more powerful machine instead if you have substantial hard landscaping to clean or several vehicles to maintain. That is also the reviewer’s advice for more frequent use. The lower purchase price matters less if the machine’s control, handling or build does not suit the amount of work you expect it to do.
