To get Gyazo embed HTML, open the capture page for your screenshot, GIF, or Gyazo Video recording, open the Share menu at the top, and copy HTML embed code. Paste that code into a destination that allows HTML. The same menu also provides Markdown. If your destination supports Gyazo links, oEmbed, or a native preview, pasting the capture URL may be enough, but support varies and WordPress requires some coding.
How to get Gyazo embed code
- Create or upload the capture. Use Gyazo for a still screenshot, or Gyazo Video for a screen recording or GIF, then wait for the capture page to open.
- Open the capture page. The share controls are on the page for that individual capture, not in the desktop capture tool’s settings.
- Open Share. Gyazo’s sharing help says the menu at the top includes both HTML embed code and Markdown options. See Gyazo’s sharing instructions.
- Choose HTML embed code and copy the generated text. Gyazo generates code for your own capture. The official help explains where to retrieve it but does not publish one universal snippet, so do not substitute a made-up iframe or image URL.
- Paste it into an HTML-capable field. Use your site’s HTML/source editor, a custom HTML block, a documentation system that permits embeds, or the equivalent field in your publishing platform. Save, then preview from a signed-out or private window to confirm the audience can access the capture.
The exact markup and how it sizes on the page are supplied by Gyazo and can change. Keep the generated code intact unless you understand the destination’s sanitization and responsive-embed rules.
Embedding a Gyazo screenshot
A still image follows the normal Gyazo sharing flow: capture the screen, open the resulting image page, then use Share → HTML embed code. The generated embed points visitors to the Gyazo capture page as well as displaying the image. Anyone who has the shared link can access that page, so embedding is also an access decision, not just a visual one.
When to use HTML versus Markdown
- HTML embed: choose this when the destination accepts HTML and you want Gyazo’s generated embed behavior.
- Markdown: choose this for a Markdown editor, README, issue tracker, or documentation system that converts Markdown to an image/link.
- Plain URL: use this only when the destination creates a reliable Gyazo preview or supports oEmbed. A URL alone is not a universal replacement for the generated code.
How to embed a Gyazo GIF
- Capture the animation with Gyazo’s GIF workflow or upload it, then open its Gyazo page.
- Use the top Share menu and select the HTML embed option.
- Copy the generated code into an HTML-enabled area and preview the page in the same browser context your readers will use.
Animated media can be more demanding than a still image. Check the destination’s content-security policy, sanitization, and autoplay behavior if the embed is removed or does not animate. Those behaviors are controlled by the destination and are not specified by Gyazo’s sharing help.

How to embed a Gyazo Video recording
Gyazo Video pages have their own share menu. Open the recording’s page, choose Share, and copy its embed code or one of the available download options. The Gyazo Video help page documents this workflow.
Video and GIF are different capture modes
- Gyazo Video can record screen video with sound and HD quality, or create a screen GIF.
- Gyazo says Pro or Teams users can trim video. Trimming availability is therefore plan-dependent and may change; check the current Gyazo account UI before planning an editing workflow.
- The Chrome, Firefox, and Edge extension’s page-capture functions are for still images. Gyazo says Gyazo Video and Replay are not supported in that extension; use the dedicated desktop/video workflow instead. See desktop capture help and the browser extension guide.
Can you embed a Gyazo link without HTML?
Sometimes. Gyazo supports the oEmbed API, which can let a compatible service turn a Gyazo URL into an embed automatically. Gyazo specifically discusses support in services such as WordPress and GitHub, but notes that WordPress requires some coding. A platform may instead implement its own link-preview integration, or it may display only a clickable URL.
| Destination capability | What to do | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| HTML editor or custom HTML block | Paste Gyazo’s generated HTML | Most direct option; platform sanitization can still alter it. |
| Markdown editor | Paste the Markdown supplied by Gyazo | Rendering depends on the site’s Markdown implementation. |
| oEmbed or Gyazo-aware link previews | Paste the capture URL | May become an embed automatically; support is destination-specific. |
| Plain-text or restricted editor | Paste the URL as a normal link | Readers get the capture page, not necessarily an inline media player or image. |
Do not assume that a link working in one service will render in another. If a preview does not appear, use the destination’s HTML/source mode and paste the code from Gyazo’s share menu.

Privacy and access checks before publishing
A capture link grants access to the capture page. Before embedding an image, GIF, or video in a public article, make sure the people who can view that article should also be able to open the Gyazo page.

Metadata visibility
Gyazo’s privacy help says capture metadata is private by default. If metadata is made public, people with the link may see saved details and the profile name. Review the capture’s sharing and metadata settings before you publish it; the privacy guidance also states that your IP address is not visible to other people.
- Open the final page in a private window to test what an unauthenticated visitor sees.
- Remove or blur secrets, tokens, customer data, and personal conversations before capture; an embed does not make sensitive pixels private.
- Check whether profile information or saved metadata is exposed when the capture is shared.
- Remember that deleting or changing access to the capture can break an already-published embed.
Troubleshooting Gyazo embeds
The code appears as text
Your editor is treating the code as escaped text. Switch to its HTML/source/custom-HTML mode, or use the Markdown option in a Markdown field. A visual rich-text box often strips tags by design.
The image, GIF, or video is blank
First open the Gyazo capture URL directly in a private window. If the page itself is unavailable, access settings, deletion, or a failed upload is the likely cause. If the page works directly but not inside your site, the destination may block embeds through sanitization or security policy; ask the site administrator whether Gyazo embeds are allowed.
A pasted URL does not turn into a preview
Plain-link embedding is not universal. Use the generated HTML instead, or confirm that the platform supports Gyazo’s oEmbed integration. WordPress in particular requires coding rather than a guaranteed paste-and-preview workflow.

Autoplay, sound, and inline playback are controlled by the destination browser and its policies. Test with controls enabled and provide a direct Gyazo link as a fallback. Do not modify generated attributes unless your platform documents the change.
The browser extension cannot make a video
That is expected for the extension’s page-capture feature. Use Gyazo Video or the desktop capture application for video and Replay recordings.
The embed was removed after publishing
Many CMSs sanitize iframe, script, or media markup when a post is saved. Compare the saved source with the original generated code, then use an approved custom-HTML block or a platform integration instead of repeatedly pasting into a filtered field.
Choosing the right sharing method
| Need | Recommended method | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Inline screenshot in a page that accepts HTML | Generated HTML embed | Gyazo supplies destination-ready markup for the capture. |
| Image in Markdown documentation | Generated Markdown | Matches the editor’s syntax and keeps a link to the capture. |
| Fast posting to an oEmbed-aware service | Paste the Gyazo URL | The service can request embed data automatically. |
| Restricted CMS or forum | Plain link | Works when scripts, iframes, and custom HTML are prohibited. |
| Screen recording with sound | Gyazo Video embed | Video pages provide a dedicated share-menu embed option. |
Or skip the browser setup
If you need screenshots generated by code rather than a manually shared Gyazo capture, ScreenshotNeo returns a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or PDF from one request. It accepts consent banners before capture and removes more than 60 known consent platforms, newsletter popups, and chat widgets; each cleanup step can be disabled. Only clean shots are billed: bot checks or CAPTCHAs, blank pages, timeouts, failed loads, and cache hits cost nothing, and the response identifies the result with X-Page-Verdict and X-Billed headers. Its MCP server provides take_screenshot, get_page_info, and capture_pdf tools for Claude, Cursor, and other MCP clients.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Gyazo provide one universal embed snippet?
No. Gyazo generates code for each capture from that capture page’s Share menu. Copy the code shown for your own image, GIF, or video rather than using a generic snippet.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Can I embed a private Gyazo capture?
Anyone who can obtain the shared link can access its capture page. Confirm the capture’s access and metadata settings before placing the link in a public page.
Why does WordPress need coding for Gyazo links?
Gyazo documents oEmbed support but specifically warns that WordPress requires some coding, so a pasted URL alone is not guaranteed to create an embed.
Can the Gyazo browser extension record a video?
No. Its documented page-capture functions create still images; Gyazo Video and Replay are not supported in that extension.
