The confirmed story setup puts them together after an easy score goes wrong, drawing them into a criminal conspiracy across Leonida and leaving them dependent on each other. Who are Jason and Lucia in GTA 6?
Rockstar presents Jason and Lucia as the paired protagonists of GTA VI. Its synopsis says they have long understood that the odds are stacked against them. When a job goes wrong, they become caught up in a conspiracy spanning the fictional state of Leonida and are forced to rely on each other.
That is the clearest confirmed connection between them. Rockstar has not disclosed the conspiracy’s full nature, the complete chain of events, or how the story ends. The official descriptions also do not confirm that they are romantically involved. Comparisons to Bonnie and Clyde, predictions of betrayal, and claims about who leads the partnership remain interpretations, not established plot facts. What is Jason Duval’s backstory?
Rockstar says Jason grew up around “grifters and crooks,” spent time in the Army while trying to move on from a troubled adolescence, and later worked for local drug runners in the Keys. His short biography sums up his immediate desire simply: “Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder.”

The official biography establishes a crime-linked past and a preference for an easier path; it does not spell out his full history or the arc he will follow during the game. It leaves open how important his relationship with Lucia will become. Rockstar’s character information page contains the published Jason and Lucia biographies.
What is Lucia Caminos’s backstory?
Lucia’s biography says that fighting for her family led to her imprisonment in Leonida Penitentiary. After her release, she is focused on making smarter moves and pursuing the better life her mother dreamed of while they were in Liberty City. Rockstar describes Lucia as ready to take matters into her own hands.

Her biography presents a determined character with a family motivation, but it does not reveal the full circumstances behind her imprisonment or provide a complete account of her life. Rockstar describes a life with Jason as a possible route toward a better future, not a guaranteed outcome.

How do Jason and Lucia compare?

What is confirmed about GTA 6’s release and platforms?
As of October 3, 2026, Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto VI for November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The cited official pages do not establish a PC version. Since the listed release date is in the future, Jason and Lucia’s story is not yet available to play as of that date. Check Rockstar’s game page for any later changes.
