As of October 4, 2026, Rockstar lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, with a release date of November 19, 2026. Its official material confirms the state of Leonida and names several destinations, but gives much less detail about wildlife, playable activities, or weather systems. Here is what Rockstar has established—and what remains unknown.
What is the GTA 6 map like?
GTA 6 is set in Leonida, a fictional state that includes Vice City and areas beyond it. Rockstar describes Leonida as “home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond.” That is promotional wording, not a measured claim about map size. Rockstar has not published exact borders, distances, road lengths, or a complete map in the official material cited here.
The official screenshot index names six destinations. Those labels establish that Rockstar has identified these places, but do not show how large each one is or how much of it players can explore.

Rockstar’s character descriptions add a little story context to the geography. Jason is described as having found himself in the Keys working for local drug runners. Brian is described as moving product through a boatyard and having a smuggling background. These details locate characters and their histories; they do not confirm specific player missions or activities.

What animals are in GTA 6?
Rockstar has not provided a verified wildlife species list or described animal-interaction systems in the official text cited here. That means there is not enough confirmed information to give a complete answer about which animals appear, how they behave, or whether players can hunt, photograph, or otherwise interact with them.

A glimpse of an animal in an official image or trailer would establish only that the animal is visible in that material. It would not, on its own, verify a full species roster or a gameplay mechanic. The official material cited here does not include a complete list of playable activities or side content. A place shown in a screenshot, a vehicle, or a character’s line of work is not proof that players can participate in a corresponding activity.

Rockstar’s cited official material does not specify whether GTA 6 has dynamic weather, storms, seasonal changes, particular weather events, or weather effects on driving and other gameplay. The sunny-state framing used to promote Leonida is not a technical description of the game’s weather system. Until Rockstar provides specifics, claims about hurricanes, seasons, or weather-driven mechanics remain unconfirmed.
