Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. As of October 3, 2026, PlayStation India and Xbox India list the Standard Edition at ₹5,999 and the Ultimate Edition at ₹7,499. One important purchase detail: Rockstar says the boxed physical version includes a download code, not a disc.
When is GTA 6 coming out?
Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have announced November 19, 2026, as the release date for Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar lists PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S as its launch platforms. Take-Two also describes it as a single-player experience. Rockstar’s release announcement and Take-Two’s announcement are the primary date references.

Some store metadata has displayed November 18 even though Rockstar and the platform FAQs state November 19. Check your local console storefront for the precise time the game becomes available in your region rather than treating the differing metadata as a confirmed alternate date.
Which consoles can play GTA 6?
The confirmed console versions are for PS5, including PS5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S. PlayStation India’s FAQ says the game will not be playable on PS4. The official platform information cited here does not confirm a PC version or a PC release date, so a PC timetable should not be treated as announced. See the PlayStation India game page and FAQ.

How much does GTA 6 cost in India?
As listed on the India storefronts checked on October 3, 2026, both editions cost the same on PlayStation India and Xbox India. These are observed storefront prices, not a guarantee they will remain unchanged; confirm the amount at checkout.
| Edition | PlayStation India | Xbox India | What it includes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | ₹5,999 | ₹5,999 | The game, with qualifying preorder benefits. PlayStation also lists a seven-day preload. |
| Ultimate | ₹7,499 | ₹7,499 | The game, Ultimate Edition Upgrade, and the listed qualifying preorder benefits. |
| Ultimate Edition Upgrade | Add-on listed; price not stated by PlayStation India | ₹1,500 | For Standard owners; the Xbox listing says to redeem the Standard code first. Check the relevant store for current availability and price. |
See the PlayStation India listing and Xbox India listing for current checkout details. The US-dollar price in Take-Two’s announcement is not a substitute for the India storefront price.
What is the difference between Standard and Ultimate?
Standard Edition
Standard includes the game. A qualifying preorder or purchase before November 20, 2026, is listed with the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+, subject to the platform’s terms.

- Platform- Sony Playstation 1
Ultimate Edition
Ultimate includes the game and the Ultimate Edition Upgrade. Rockstar describes the upgrade’s bonuses as in-game items, including themed vehicles, weapons, outfits, hairstyles, tattoos and other items associated with Jason and Lucia’s story. The official descriptions do not say Ultimate changes the core game or includes a physical collectible.
The price difference on the India listings checked is ₹1,500. If you prefer Standard, Rockstar says you can buy the digital upgrade later through the PlayStation or Microsoft storefront after redeeming the Standard code. That gives you the option to start with Standard rather than paying for Ultimate up front; confirm the add-on’s current store availability and price when you decide.
Does the physical GTA 6 copy come with a disc?
No. Rockstar says the physical version contains a download code inside the box and no disc. The boxed version is therefore a code-in-box purchase, not a disc you can install or lend. Rockstar says physical copies are expected to be available for shipping or pickup starting November 12, 2026, to support preload; Indian retailer delivery timing has not been established, so a box purchase should not be assumed to arrive by launch day. Details are on Rockstar Games Support’s platform, editions and versions information.

How do preload and code regions work?
Rockstar says digital preload begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026. A boxed code can also be redeemed for preload once you receive it. Rockstar recommends buying and playing from a retailer in the country associated with your platform account to reduce activation problems.
- PlayStation: Code redemption is region-sensitive. Rockstar’s support information groups India within “Rest of EMEA and Asia,” so make sure the code matches your account’s region.
- Xbox: Rockstar says purchased codes are not region-locked. Buying from a retailer associated with your account country is still the recommended way to avoid activation issues.
Store availability and redemption rules can change, so check the code’s region and the terms shown by the retailer and platform before purchase.

Rockstar lists the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+ for qualifying preorders or purchases made before November 20, 2026. The pack includes a ’55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage, outfits and hairstyles, and an exclusive weapon pattern. GTA+ is an included month under offer terms, not a permanent free subscription.
- PlayStation India: The free month is tied to the account used to preorder, must be redeemed by March 31, 2027, and auto-renews monthly after the included month unless cancelled.
- Xbox India: The listing describes a redemption notification and a 180-day redemption window, with redemption limited to one per platform account.
Confirm the eligibility, redemption deadline and renewal conditions displayed in your own store before placing an order. The Rockstar game page and regional store listings are the relevant references for offer terms.
Which GTA 6 edition should Indian gamers choose?
- Choose Standard if you want the game at the lower listed price and are comfortable deciding later whether the Ultimate in-game items are worth the upgrade cost.
- Choose Ultimate if the listed bonus items are worth the extra ₹1,500 to you and you want them included from the start.
- Choose digital if you want to preload directly through the console store and do not need a box. Rockstar’s stated preload start is local midnight on November 12.
- Choose boxed code-in-box if you want a physical retail box, while remembering it contains a download code rather than a disc and that delivery timing depends on the retailer.
- Check platform and account region first: the confirmed versions are PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation codes are region-sensitive.
The story is set in Vice City in the fictional state of Leonida, with Jason and Lucia at its centre; the official platform descriptions identify it as single-player.
