To play Gran Turismo 7 locally with friends, connect one controller per player, open Multiplayer, and choose Split-Screen Races. Player 1 sets up the race and starts it. The PS5 version supports up to four players; the PS4 version supports up to two.

Have one controller for every person racing. The manual requires an individual controller per player but does not specify a single controller model that applies to both console generations. GT7 online manual

Start a local split-screen race
- Connect a controller for each player and launch GT7. From the Multiplayer area, select Split-Screen Races. The manual documents the setup from that screen but does not specify the exact menu steps leading to it.
- Have Player 1 configure the race: choose the number of laps and start type, then select the cars, track, layout and conditions.
- When the setup is ready, select Start Race.
These setup controls are described in the GT7 online manual.

Choose a car for each player
Players can use a rental car provided for split-screen racing or a car from their Garage, provided it has been added to Favourites beforehand. To favourite a Garage car, open the Garage’s Change Car screen and press Triangle. The manual also says the pre-race Quick Menu includes Change Grid Order if you want to adjust the starting order. - The documented route is through Multiplayer and Split-Screen Races; the manual does not give a more detailed preceding menu path.
- The official sources cited here do not establish whether local split-screen requires PlayStation Plus or a progression unlock, so do not assume either is required.
