How to fix a failed GT7 update on PS5 or PS4
PlayStation recommends these general steps for a game or app update failure. They are not a Spec III-specific error-code fix.
- Test the connection: open Settings > Network and test the internet connection.
- Restart the console: after it restarts, try checking for the update again.
- Update system software: make sure the PS5 or PS4 system software is current, then retry the game update.
- Reinstall GT7: delete the game, then reinstall it from your Game Library or game disc. Confirm you can access the game before trying the update again.
- Use Safe Mode if the issue continues: start the console in Safe Mode. On PS5, choose Clear Cache and Rebuild Database; on PS4, choose Rebuild Database.
- Contact PlayStation Support if the update still will not install.

Spec III is separate from the Power Pack DLC
Spec III is the free game update; Power Pack is a separate paid add-on announced for the PS5 version of GT7. Sony’s announcement says update 1.65 is required for Power Pack and that Menu Book No. 9 must be completed to access its features. The announcement describes the launch offer as 50 races across 20 themed categories and 5,000,000 in-game Credits. Those figures describe Power Pack, not the free update.
Power Pack pricing and availability can vary by region and date. Check the live PlayStation Store listing for current details. You do not need to buy Power Pack to install Spec III.
