The Pixel 11 Pro Fold is Google’s most refined foldable so far, but “best” depends on what matters to you. Its large 8-inch inner screen, lighter design than its predecessor, and faster charging make a strong case; TechRadar’s review, however, flags its remaining weight and inconsistent ultrawide photos. It is most compelling for buyers who value a spacious screen and Google’s software features over the lightest build or the strongest camera versatility.
What’s new in the Pixel 11 Pro Fold?
Google announced the Pixel 11 Pro Fold on August 12, 2026, with preorders opening that day and retail availability scheduled for August 20. The company describes it as thinner and lighter than its predecessor, with a new main camera, added durability inside and out, and a camera visor featuring HiLight. Google says it is almost 10% lighter and about 1 mm thinner than the Pixel 10 Pro Fold; those are manufacturer comparisons, not independent measurements. Google’s announcement also positions the phone around Gemini Intelligence and introduces Tensor G6 with 16 GB of RAM.
That hardware and feature update is meaningful, but Google’s description of “smooth, speedy performance” is promotional language, not a published benchmark result. The available review evidence does not establish a performance advantage over competing foldables.
How do the two screens work?
Google lists a 6.5-inch outer display for quick interactions and a larger 8-inch folding screen for tasks that benefit from more room. Both are OLED Super Actua displays with refresh rates from 1 to 120 Hz. The inner screen’s nearly square proportions suit reading, multitasking, and viewing content across a larger canvas; the outer screen lets you use the phone without opening it.
#1 Best Overall
- Designed for Gemini Intelligence, brighter screens, and a more durable design, the new Google Pixel 11 Pro Fold delivers eye-opening performance and makes multitasking effortless[1,2,3]
- Unlocked Android phone gives you the flexibility to change carriers and choose your own data plan: Works with Google Fi, Verizon, T-Mobile, AT&T, and other major carriers[4]
- As stunning as it is strong: Pixel 11 Pro Fold’s ultra-durable composite back is lighter, stronger, and designed to be nearly impossible to crack[5,6]; and with scratch-resistant glass and an all-new hinge, it’s 3x stronger[5]
- Unfold the fun: Drift away into immersive entertainment on the brighter-than-ever 8-inch screen[2]; take it into tabletop mode for hands-free streaming of your favorite content
- Stay informed without looking at your screen: When your phone is face down, Pixel HiLight gently alerts you with subtle glowing lights when your favorite contacts are calling or you’re talking with Gemini; exclusive to Google Pixel 11 Pro phones
| Display | Google-listed specifications |
|---|---|
| Outer | 6.5-inch (164 mm) Super Actua OLED; 1080 × 2342 resolution; 399 PPI; 1–120 Hz |
| Inner | 8-inch (204 mm) Super Actua Flex OLED; 2076 × 2152 resolution; 372 PPI; 1–120 Hz |
These figures are from the Google Store specifications. The larger panel is a clear advantage if you often want tablet-like space in a phone, but a foldable’s value depends on whether you will actually use that extra screen area.
Is it comfortable to carry and use?
The Google Store lists the phone at 8.4 oz, with folded dimensions of 6.1 × 3.0 × 0.4 inches and unfolded dimensions of 6.1 × 5.9 × 0.2 inches. TechRadar reports a weight of 239 g (about 8.4 oz) and says the reduction makes the handset more comfortable to hold than the preceding model. Its reviewer still found it heavier than the Samsung Fold 8 and Fold 8 Ultra models cited in that review. That makes weight a real trade-off for anyone who carries a large foldable all day, even though Google has trimmed it.

What are the camera strengths and weaknesses?
TechRadar calls the camera system capable for casual photography, awarding it 3.5/5. The reviewer found macro and low-light shots generally good and said 4K video looked good. The review also reports that some images looked grainy or flat, particularly ultrawide shots, and that the camera could leave users wanting more megapixels. These are one reviewer’s hands-on observations, not a controlled lab test or a guarantee of how every scene will look.
Google promotes a new main camera and a camera visor with HiLight. TechRadar also discusses Magic Capture, which uses video capture to help users avoid missing a preferred shot. Those features may be useful, but the available review does not erase the ultrawide concerns. If camera versatility is a priority, compare real sample photos and video from the Pixel and the alternatives you are considering.

How fast does it charge, and how long does the battery last?
Google says 30 W wired charging can bring the phone to 50% in about 30 minutes. Its built-in Qi2.2 wireless charging supports up to 25 W, which Google describes as 20% faster than the last-generation Fold. Google also claims more than 24 hours of battery life. These are manufacturer figures; the cited sources do not establish an independently tested endurance result or show how battery life varies with heavy use, screen time, or network conditions.
Which software features stand out?
Google says the dual screens support real-time translation and describes a sign-to-text feature developed in partnership with the Deaf community. In Google’s described interaction, a signer uses Live Transcribe and Gboard in their native language, signs American Sign Language toward the front camera, and sees translations on the outer display. Availability can depend on language and market, so check whether the feature supports your location and preferred language before treating it as a reason to buy.

Google announced preorders on August 12, 2026, and said the phone would reach shelves August 20. Its Google Store product page is the place to confirm the current price, storage option, country availability, and any offers; those details can change and should be checked for your market before purchase. AP News also covered the launch and pricing: its report provides launch context, but the Store is the more direct place to verify a live listing.

Is the Pixel 11 Pro Fold Google’s best foldable yet?
By its feature set and generational refinements, it has a strong claim to being Google’s most accomplished foldable so far: it combines an 8-inch inner display, Tensor G6, 16 GB of RAM, and faster charging with a thinner and lighter design than the previous model, according to Google. But a category-wide “best” verdict needs a defined comparison and buyer priorities. TechRadar’s review points to two reasons to compare alternatives: the Pixel remains heavier than the Samsung models it cites, and some ultrawide photos disappointed the reviewer.
- Consider it if you want a large folding screen, Google’s Gemini-oriented features, and a more refined design than the prior generation.
- Compare lighter rivals if a lower carry weight matters more than the Pixel’s particular screen and software mix.
- Compare camera results carefully if you rely on ultrawide photography or expect top-tier camera flexibility.
- Wait for market-specific pricing if the purchase makes sense only at a particular price or promotion; verify the live offer and storage tier before ordering.
Google calls the phone its “most sophisticated foldable yet,” as Justin Savich, Group Product Manager, wrote in the August 12 announcement. That is Google’s positioning, not independent proof that it is the best foldable for every buyer.
