The Google Pixel 10 is the lower-cost, smaller option; the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra offers a larger, sharper display, more extensive telephoto hardware and higher storage tiers. On US storefront pages checked October 7, 2026, the Pixel 10 was listed from $649 and Samsung’s 256GB S26 Ultra at $1,199.99—a displayed gap of $550.99. Those were promotional listings, not guaranteed checkout prices.
How much more does the Galaxy S26 Ultra cost?
On October 7, 2026, Google’s US Pixel 10 page displayed a starting price of $649, with $799 crossed out. Samsung’s US purchase page listed the Galaxy S26 Ultra at $1,199.99 for 256GB, $1,399.99 for 512GB and $1,799.99 for 1TB; the page also showed higher crossed-out prices for each tier. Comparing the two starting configurations—the Pixel offer and the 256GB Samsung listing—the displayed difference was $550.99. These are storefront prices checked on that date, not a promise of what you will pay. Promotions can change, and taxes, trade-ins, carrier offers, storage selection and eligibility may affect the checkout total. Which phone is better for your screen and everyday handling?
The Pixel 10 is the more compact choice, with a 6.3-inch display and listed weight of 7.2 ounces. The S26 Ultra’s 6.9-inch screen gives you more viewing area and a higher listed resolution, but the phone is also larger and heavier at 214 grams. A screen diagonal alone does not determine comfort: consider how you hold a phone, use it one-handed and carry it.
Samsung lists QHD+ resolution and adaptive refresh from 1Hz to 120Hz for the Ultra. Google lists 1080 × 2424 resolution and a 60–120Hz refresh range for the Pixel. These published specifications describe the panels; they do not establish which display looks better in every setting.

Which camera system gives you more reach?
The hardware configurations favor different approaches. Pixel has one listed 5× optical telephoto camera alongside wide and ultrawide cameras. Samsung provides separate 3× and 5× telephoto cameras, plus a 200MP wide camera. Samsung distinguishes optical zoom from optical-quality zoom in its camera descriptions; those terms should not be treated as interchangeable.

What do the battery and charging figures tell you?
Google lists a typical 4,970mAh battery and claims 24-plus hours of battery life. Samsung lists a typical 5,000mAh battery and claims the S26 Ultra can reach up to 75% charge in about 30 minutes with Super-Fast Charging 3.0. These manufacturer statements use different measures; they are not a shared battery-life or charging test, so they do not establish which phone lasts longer in everyday use.
For Pixel’s fast-charge claim, Google specifies a 30W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. Its listed wireless charging is up to 15W and Qi2-certified. Check charger compatibility and the exact charging conditions before relying on a particular rate.

How do software support and storage affect the choice?
Google states that the Pixel 10 launched with Android 16 and will receive seven years of OS, security and Pixel Drop updates. Samsung’s cited US launch announcement describes Galaxy AI and other software features but does not give a support-term figure directly comparable with Google’s. That is a difference in what these sources state, not proof that Samsung has no support policy.
Pixel’s reviewed US specification page lists 128GB and 256GB configurations, both with 12GB of RAM. Samsung’s US announcement lists 256GB and 512GB models with 12GB of RAM, plus a 1TB model with 16GB. If you keep large video libraries or many offline files, compare the exact storage tier and price you can buy; the 1TB option is listed for the Ultra, not the Pixel page reviewed here.

Which one should you buy?
- Choose Pixel 10 if the lower displayed entry price, smaller form factor or Google’s stated seven-year update term is more important to you.
- Choose Galaxy S26 Ultra if you want a larger, higher-resolution listed display, separate 3× and 5× telephoto cameras, or a listed storage option up to 1TB.
- Compare live totals before deciding if you are considering trade-ins, carrier promotions, a different storage tier or financing; the dated storefront gap is not a fixed price difference.
- Do not decide on battery life or photo quality from these specifications alone. The vendor figures and camera hardware do not amount to a common independent comparison.
