GoDaddy POS starts with free software for supported Smart Terminal hardware, while its published US-oriented 2026 guide prices terminals from $275 to $499 and Point of Sale Plus at $28.99 per month when billed annually. Payment processing is a separate cost, and GoDaddy publishes different rates by subscription and payment channel. The best terminal depends mainly on whether you need a handheld device, a customer-facing screen, or a countertop setup for larger catalogs and complex orders.

How much does GoDaddy POS cost?

GoDaddy’s US-oriented pricing guide, published March 17, 2026, lists these hardware and software prices. Treat them as guide prices: check live checkout pricing and availability for your country before buying.

Item Published price What to know
Smart Terminal Flex $275 Portable handheld terminal.
Smart Terminal Duo $399 Countertop terminal with a customer-facing screen.
Smart Terminal Pro $499 Swivel-screen terminal positioned for larger catalogs or complex orders.
Basic POS software Free with supported hardware The free POS tier is limited to up to 10 products on the POS, according to GoDaddy’s POS Plus help information.
Point of Sale Plus $28.99 per month when paid annually The published figure is an annual-billing rate; confirm current billing terms.

These amounts do not include payment-processing fees. GoDaddy’s guide lists 2.5% plus $0 for standard processing and 2.3% plus $0 with Plus, but its fee help page explains that rates vary by product subscription and payment channel. For your exact account rates, open the Pricing tab in GoDaddy Payments settings.

What are GoDaddy Payments fees?

Processing fees are deducted from transactions and are separate from the cost of a terminal or subscription. GoDaddy says: “GoDaddy Payments customers pay a fee that is charged per transaction, and subtracted from the amount you receive on your deposit (payouts).” Its fee page lists 1.75% for standard in-person card-present payments, while its subscription table includes 2.5% for some subscriptions and 2.3% for Point of Sale Plus. The page also lists a $15 dispute fee. These are not interchangeable universal rates: check the Pricing tab in your own GoDaddy Payments account for the applicable fees and terms.

Rate Saver

GoDaddy describes Rate Saver as an opt-in feature for Point of Sale Plus or Invoicing & Pay Links Plus. Its fee page gives different treatment for credit and debit payments and says the feature is not available for certain e-commerce transactions. Before enabling it, review GoDaddy’s current terms and the rules that apply where you do business; do not assume it will reduce costs or that a surcharge is permitted in every location.

Which GoDaddy POS terminal should you choose?

The practical difference is the selling setup each device supports. The price comparison below uses the published US-oriented guide; confirm local availability and checkout prices separately.

Rank #2
Mount-It! Universal Credit Card POS Terminal Stand, Tilt/Swivel, Steel
  • Speed up checkout at your counter – Keep your card reader upright and within easy reach at retail counters, reception desks, salons, and service windows. Customers tap, dip, or swipe right where they're standing, so staff aren't repositioning the terminal between transactions.
  • Universal clamp, you confirm the fit – The adjustable clamp accommodates most POS terminals between 2.4 and 3.7 inches wide. Please measure your terminal's width and base shape before ordering, since devices with rounded or tapered edges may not seat as securely as flat-sided models.
  • Position it however your counter needs – Swivel the head up to 180 degrees and tilt 60 degrees down or 70 degrees up so the screen faces each customer comfortably, whatever their height or where they're standing at checkout.
  • Dial in the hold with the side tension screw – A hand screw on the side of the pole lets you adjust how loose or tight the swiveling head moves, so you can set it firm for a steady payment station or looser for quick repositioning.
  • Steel build, tidy countertop – Solid steel construction stands up to daily use at busy checkout counters. The hollow pole routes cables internally, so cords stay out of sight and your payment area looks clean and professional.
Model Published US guide price Best fit Form factor
Smart Terminal Flex $275 Mobile or away-from-counter selling Compact handheld terminal.
Smart Terminal Duo $399 Counter service where customers benefit from a second screen Countertop terminal with a customer-facing display.
Smart Terminal Pro $499 Businesses with larger catalogs or more complex orders Swivel-screen terminal.

GoDaddy’s device help page also lists a Poynt Card Reader and identifies it as US-only. Regional product pages may show different currencies, prices, or specifications; for example, GoDaddy’s Canadian page describes Duo with 8-inch merchant and 5-inch customer screens, and Flex with a 6-inch touchscreen. Those details should not be used as US pricing or availability. GoDaddy describes the listed devices as accepting chip, swipe, and contactless transactions on that Canadian page.

What to check before buying

  • Total cost: Add the hardware price, any Plus subscription, and applicable processing fees. The quoted hardware and plan prices are from GoDaddy’s US-oriented guide dated March 17, 2026.
  • Your actual processing rate: Use the Pricing tab in GoDaddy Payments settings rather than assuming a guide or help-page rate applies to your account.
  • Country and currency: Verify the device is sold and supported in your market; do not apply US guide prices to another region.
  • Counter layout: Choose Flex for portable selling, Duo when a customer-facing display is useful, or Pro for the swivel-screen setup GoDaddy positions for larger catalogs or complex orders.
  • Plan limits: Check whether up to 10 POS products on the free tier is sufficient, or whether Plus features justify its recurring charge.
  • Independent evidence: GoDaddy’s product information describes features and pricing, but it does not establish independent reliability, customer satisfaction, or comparative performance. This is not a hands-on test.
