Yes. GMC Acadia models with Bluetooth can connect a compatible phone for hands-free calls, and supported systems can also stream audio. The available functions and pairing menus depend on the Acadia’s model year, infotainment system, and equipment. Bluetooth calling and music are separate from Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which may not be available or wireless on every Acadia.
What Bluetooth can do in a GMC Acadia
GMC describes in-vehicle Bluetooth as a way to connect a phone for hands-free calling and streaming audio. The 2019 Acadia owner’s manual documents both hands-free phone use and Bluetooth music playback, while warning that some phones may not support every function or audio streaming. Check the manual for your specific year and configuration rather than assuming every Acadia has the same features.
The 2019 manual says: “Vehicles with a Hands-Free Phone system can use a Bluetooth-capable cell phone with a hands-free profile to make and receive phone calls.” This describes the system documented in that manual; it does not establish identical equipment in every year or trim. Read the 2019 GMC Acadia owner’s manual.
How to pair a phone
GMC’s current general pairing guide uses these steps. Menu names can differ on a particular Acadia, so follow the matching in-vehicle prompts if the wording is different.

- Tap the Phone icon on the vehicle’s home screen.
- Choose Manage Phones.
- Tap the plus sign (+).
- Follow the prompts on the vehicle display and your phone to complete pairing.
GMC’s general guidance for iPhone also says to open the vehicle’s Bluetooth entry in iPhone Settings, enable Show Notifications and Sync Contacts, then disconnect and reconnect the phone if needed. What to expect after pairing
In the 2019 Acadia manual, a successful pairing automatically downloads the phone book. That system allows only one paired phone to be connected at a time; if several paired phones are nearby, it connects according to the order in which they were first paired. These details apply to the system described in the 2019 manual, not necessarily to later model years.

Bluetooth music playback also depends on the phone supporting the relevant audio profile. The 2019 manual specifically cautions that some Bluetooth phones may not support audio streaming. If calls work but music does not, check the phone’s Bluetooth audio support and the instructions for the Acadia’s model year.

Bluetooth can handle calls or audio without displaying phone apps on the vehicle screen. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are separate projection features, and the 2021 Acadia manual labels them “if equipped.” That manual describes projection through a USB data port and says initial wireless projection setup may use either a USB cable or Bluetooth, with wireless enabled on the phone. Bluetooth being present does not mean the vehicle supports wireless projection.

GMC says wireless CarPlay is available only on select vehicles and select iPhones. For 2024 model-year vehicles, its guide specifies iOS 14 or later and says the first connection must be made while the vehicle is in Park.
