Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition bundles the PS5 campaign with Ghost of Yōtei Legends, the Echoes of Sekigahara story expansion, Most Wanted, and specified in-game extras. Its two major additions serve different tastes: Echoes extends Atsu’s story, while Most Wanted is a single-player roguelike built around repeatable bounty runs and progression. Official feature descriptions establish what each offers, but not whether one is better; that is a matter of playing and judging them.
What is included in Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition?
The US PlayStation Store listing describes a PS5 edition containing the base game, Ghost of Yōtei Legends, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, and a set of in-game extras. Listed extras include a mask, Charm of Hokkyokusei, Snake Armor, Digital Deluxe armor dye and horse and saddle, a sword kit, early access to Traveler’s Maps, and Charm of Amaterasu. PlayStation announced that Echoes and Most Wanted would arrive through patch 2.0 on October 1, 2026, globally, and October 2 in some territories, including Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. Those announced dates have passed, but they do not confirm the patch’s current status for every region or player. The store or game’s current update information is the best place to check.

What is Most Wanted mode?
Most Wanted is a single-player roguelike mode, not the same experience as the co-op Legends mode. Each run starts with a selected bounty featuring a member of the Yōtei Six, then pits the player against waves and minibosses as difficulty rises. Mon earned in runs funds upgrades between attempts, including techniques, weapons, charms, and playable characters. Cosmetics earned in the mode can also be used in the main game.
Four playable characters
The announced roster is Atsu, Oyuki, Nagato, and Jin. Each carries a katana along with character-specific additional weapons and abilities. PlayStation’s developer feature calls out Atsu’s dual katana and Ghost Tools, and Oyuki’s kusarigama, kunai, and tanegashima; it identifies Jin as a returning character from Ghost of Tsushima. PlayStation describes Echoes of Sekigahara as a narrative expansion that takes Atsu into a previously unseen part of Ezo associated with the Vipers and The Snake. Its story combines a present-day plot involving Nagato with flashbacks to Atsu’s time on the mainland and the Battle of Sekigahara. The announced additions also include new enemies, heavy weapons, armor, dyes, and other items.

Should existing owners buy the Complete Edition?
Not necessarily. PlayStation’s September 3, 2026 developer post described a digital upgrade for existing owners, so someone who already owns the base game should check that upgrade path before paying for the full edition. The post stated a US digital upgrade price of $14.99 and a US digital Complete Edition price of $69.99 at the time of publication. Those are historical, region-specific prices, not a guarantee of today’s price or eligibility; confirm the current offer in the PlayStation Store. The post also described the upgrade as digital-only.

For a new buyer, the Complete Edition is the package that combines the campaign, Legends, both named additions, and the listed extras. PlayStation said new buyers would receive the base game and Legends immediately, with Most Wanted and Echoes becoming available October 1, 2026. Since that release date has passed, check the current store listing and patch state rather than relying on the original launch schedule. Which addition should you prioritize?
- Choose Echoes of Sekigahara first if your main interest is Atsu’s story, the mainland flashbacks, and the new Ezo setting.
- Choose Most Wanted first if you prefer solo combat challenges, escalating runs, character options, and upgrades between attempts.
- Consider the full edition if you do not own the base game and want both additions along with Legends and the listed extras.
- Check the digital upgrade if you already own the base game; compare its current price and eligibility with the full edition before purchasing.
Those priorities follow the announced formats, not a verdict that one addition is objectively superior. Establishing whether Most Wanted “steals the show” would require an actual comparative review; the available official descriptions alone do not prove that claim.
