GeForce NOW can stream games at up to 120 FPS on some Android phones and tablets, but a 120Hz screen alone is not enough. NVIDIA’s current guidance requires an Ultimate membership, and the device should be checked against NVIDIA’s tested-device list. The 2022 expansion brought support to more Android devices; the requirements below explain what applies now.
What changed in the 2022 expansion?
A report published July 22, 2022, described NVIDIA expanding 120 FPS GeForce NOW streaming to a wider range of Android devices. At the time, the reported requirements were an RTX 3080 membership and a 120Hz-compatible Android device. That tier has since been renamed: NVIDIA’s current guidance calls the membership Ultimate. The historical report is available from Android Police; for current eligibility, use NVIDIA’s support pages below.
GeForce NOW runs games on remote systems and streams the video to your device. It connects to supported digital game stores, and you may need to connect the relevant account and verify ownership of a game. Some free-to-play games are available, but an Ultimate membership does not include every game.
Can I get 120 FPS on my Android phone?
Possibly, if all the relevant conditions are met:
- Your phone or tablet has a display that supports 120Hz. NVIDIA’s Android setup documentation says, “120 FPS streaming will require a phone or tablet that supports 120Hz.”
- Your GeForce NOW account has an Ultimate membership under NVIDIA’s current guidance.
- Your specific device is supported for 120 FPS. NVIDIA maintains a list of models it has fully tested, and a 120Hz screen by itself does not guarantee 120 FPS eligibility in the app.
- Your network can meet the applicable speed and latency requirements.
NVIDIA’s tested-device article, updated November 7, 2024, includes Samsung Galaxy S21 and S22 variants and Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 variants, among other models. Check the latest Android device and setup guidance for the exact model and variant before buying a phone; availability and testing status can change.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
What Android phones are compatible?
There are two different checks: whether the app can run at all, and whether NVIDIA has tested a device for 120 FPS streaming. NVIDIA’s general Android requirements list Android 7.0 or later, at least 1GB of available memory, and OpenGL ES 2.0 or higher. Meeting those baseline requirements does not establish 120 FPS support.
For a device decision, compare the exact model variant against NVIDIA’s tested list, then confirm its display refresh rate and resolution. Also consider whether your usual Wi-Fi or mobile connection is stable enough and whether you can comfortably use a controller. NVIDIA’s current Android requirements are on its system requirements page.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
What internet speed does 120 FPS streaming need?
NVIDIA publishes these minimum Android connection speeds by stream quality. They are service requirements, not a promise that every connection will deliver a smooth stream.
| Stream quality and frame rate | Published minimum speed | Source |
|---|---|---|
| HD, up to 60 FPS | 15 Mbps | NVIDIA Android system requirements, accessed 2026 |
| FHD at 60 FPS | 25 Mbps | NVIDIA Android system requirements, accessed 2026 |
| QHD at 120 FPS | 35 Mbps | NVIDIA Android system requirements, accessed 2026 |
NVIDIA recommends a hardwired connection or 5GHz Wi-Fi and specifies less than 80ms latency to an NVIDIA data center. Its Android setup article also lists minimum speeds of 15 Mbps for 720p and 25 Mbps for 1080p, each at 60 or 120 FPS, and 35 Mbps for 1440p at 60 or 120 FPS. The available stream quality depends on the app settings and service support.

How do I set up my Android device with GeForce NOW?
- Check the phone or tablet. Confirm it meets NVIDIA’s baseline Android requirements, has a 120Hz display if you want 120 FPS, and appears in NVIDIA’s tested-device list for that feature.
- Set the display refresh rate. In your Android system settings, enable the higher refresh-rate mode if the device offers one. Some devices do not default to 120Hz.
- Install and open the GeForce NOW app. Sign in with your account and use Ultimate for 120 FPS Android streaming under NVIDIA’s current requirements.
- Choose a streaming quality in the app. Select a quality that your network and device can support; compare the target resolution and frame rate with NVIDIA’s published speed thresholds.
- Connect a supported game store account when needed. Start a game from the service and follow any prompts to verify ownership. A GeForce NOW membership is not a purchase of every game in the catalog.
- Use a suitable controller if preferred. NVIDIA lists Xbox controllers and Sony PS5 DualSense and DualShock 4 controllers for Android. A phone gamepad controller clip can attach a controller to the handset, but it is optional and does not enable 120 FPS.
NVIDIA supports on-screen virtual gamepad controls, but does not recommend them for long-term gameplay. Other controllers may work; NVIDIA notes that some can require drivers or software updates. See its Android setup and controller guidance for current details.

Why might 120 FPS be unavailable or unstable?
- The display is not running at 120Hz: Check Android’s display settings; the device may default to a lower refresh rate.
- The model is not on NVIDIA’s tested list: Baseline app compatibility and validated 120 FPS support are separate. A device with a 120Hz panel may still not be listed as tested.
- The account does not have Ultimate: NVIDIA’s current Android guidance specifies Ultimate for 120 FPS streaming.
- The network falls short: A speed test that meets the minimum does not ensure low latency or a consistent connection. Distance to the data center, Wi-Fi congestion, and moment-to-moment network conditions can affect streaming.
- The selected quality is too demanding: Lower the stream resolution or frame rate in the app if the connection cannot sustain the chosen setting.
