The Garmin Enduro 4 is available now for a suggested retail price of $899.99. Its 1.4-inch memory-in-pixel (MIP) display is paired with a solar lens, but its battery life is not literally infinite: Garmin advertises estimates of up to 320 hours in activity mode or up to 90 days in smartwatch mode, each dependent on specific sunlight and use conditions.
How long does the Garmin Enduro 4 battery last?
Garmin’s October 6, 2026 launch announcement gives two separate solar-assisted estimates. Both are manufacturer claims, not independent test results, and both depend on the stated conditions.

These are not interchangeable scenarios: the activity figure applies to an extended-battery activity mode, while the 90-day figure describes smartwatch use. The estimates are bounded “up to” claims, not a promise of unlimited operation. Actual runtime depends on whether conditions match Garmin’s assumptions.

What display and solar hardware does it use?
The Enduro 4 has a 1.4-inch MIP display and a solar lens. MIP, or memory-in-pixel, is the display technology Garmin specifies; the solar lens is part of the battery-life claims above. The launch announcement does not establish a guaranteed runtime outside its stated sunlight and usage assumptions.

What is the Enduro 4 designed to do?
Garmin positions the watch for trail running, multiday hiking and backpacking, and other endurance activities. It lists more than 100 activity profiles and comprehensive power modes, with tools for training on variable terrain, tracking stamina, navigating, and reviewing activity over longer periods.
Activity recording and training
- Max Accuracy: Provides full-feature tracking for shorter efforts.
- Max Battery: Intended for extended recording and associated with Garmin’s up-to-320-hour solar activity estimate.
- Grade-adjusted pace targets: Let athletes set workout targets based on effort across hills.
- Grade-adjusted rolling pace: Offers a real-time pace view adjusted for changing terrain.
- Stamina zones and curve: Show how stamina affects an activity and how it changes over time based on fitness and training history.
- Rucking controls: Allow pack weight to be set, with target metrics such as calories burned.
- Rowing insights: Include VO2 max and a power curve.
Maps and activity history
The watch includes built-in routable maps and a perspective view intended to show more detail at near and far distances. Garmin says the updated map engine has 30% faster panning and that the Enduro 4 has 50% more RAM than Enduro 3; those are Garmin’s comparisons, not independently measured results. Garmin Epic groups activities in Garmin Connect over days, weeks, or months and can include photos and aggregated health and performance data.
