Garmin CIRQA is easiest to justify if you already use Garmin and want a screen-free band to wear when you take off your smartwatch. Garmin’s core health and fitness tracking is marketed without a required subscription, but the $199.99 US price buys a deliberately minimal device: you rely on Garmin Connect for information, and outdoor location requires a connected phone rather than GPS built into the band. For shoppers who want an all-in-one tracker or do not care about Garmin’s ecosystem, that is a curious fit.

What is Garmin CIRQA?

Garmin announced CIRQA on July 21, 2026, describing it as a screen-free health and fitness band that complements its smartwatches and wellness monitors. The company’s US product page lists the Garmin CIRQA Smart Band for $199.99 USD. Garmin’s announcement and product page establish the positioning and listed price; neither makes the band a replacement for a watch with a display.

Garmin Vice President of Consumer Sales and Marketing Susan Lyman said the band was created for people passionate about health and activity and intended to let users move between Garmin devices throughout the day. That is Garmin’s positioning, not an independent verdict on how well CIRQA fits into a wearer’s routine.

What does CIRQA track, and how does it work?

Garmin says CIRQA provides 24/7 health monitoring, activity tracking, and sleep features, with data available in Garmin Connect. The company says it can automatically detect a variety of activities, supports more than 80 activities, and can use a connected smartphone’s GPS for outdoor activity location. Those are manufacturer-stated capabilities, not a guarantee that every activity or metric will suit every user.

  • Get a sleep score and personalized sleep coaching for how much sleep you need — and get tips on how to improve plus key metrics such as HRV status to better understand your health (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)
  • Find new ways to keep your body moving with more than 30 built-in indoor and GPS sports apps, including walking, running, cycling, HIIT, swimming, golf and more
  • Wheelchair mode tracks pushes — rather than steps — and includes push and handcycle activities with preloaded workouts for strength, cardio, HIIT, Pilates and yoga, challenges specific to wheelchair users and more (data presented is intended to be a close estimation of metrics tracked)

There is no display on the band. You check recorded information in Garmin Connect rather than reading metrics from your wrist. Wareable’s review also notes that outdoor location depends on the phone because the band has no onboard GPS. If you want to leave your phone behind while recording a route, that limitation matters.

Battery life

Garmin lists battery life of up to 10 days between charges. “Up to” is the manufacturer’s maximum claim, not a promise of a fixed interval for every person; actual battery life can vary with use.

Does Garmin CIRQA need a subscription?

Garmin markets CIRQA’s core health and fitness tracking as requiring no subscription. TechRadar notes that some Garmin Coach features in the app are behind Garmin Connect+, an optional paid tier. In practical terms, the stated subscription-free tracking and optional paid app features are separate: do not assume every coaching feature is included simply because the band does not require a subscription for its core tracking.

Is Garmin CIRQA worth it?

Wareable sees the clearest fit for existing Garmin users who want a screenless secondary tracker for periods when they are not wearing a larger sports watch. That makes ecosystem continuity the key part of the value proposition: CIRQA is more compelling if you already use Garmin Connect and want health and activity information from a discreet band alongside your other Garmin devices.

Wareable’s reviewer praised comfort and dependable tracking in their testing, but also criticized the manual button and described the software presentation as less engaging than some alternatives. Those are that reviewer’s observations, not independently established outcomes or a guarantee of how the band will feel to you. The button is worth considering if you expect a mostly background tracker that requires little interaction.

Reasons it may suit you

  • You already use Garmin watches or Garmin Connect and want the band’s data in that ecosystem.
  • You prefer wearing a screen-free device, including when you are not wearing a larger watch.
  • You are comfortable checking your activity and health information on your phone.

Reasons to look elsewhere

  • You want to see information directly on your wrist.
  • You need onboard GPS or want outdoor location tracking without carrying a connected phone.
  • You do not value Garmin integration enough to make a screenless band at the listed price appealing.

How does Garmin CIRQA compare with Fitbit Air and WHOOP?

TechRadar compares CIRQA with Fitbit Air and WHOOP, but the useful question is not which is universally best. It is which trade-offs match the way you track health and activity. Prices, features, and subscription terms can change, so verify the current offer for your country before buying.

Verdict

Garmin CIRQA’s hardware concept is strongest as a screen-free companion to a Garmin setup, not as a universally appealing fitness tracker. Its no-required-subscription core tracking and long advertised battery life will appeal to some buyers, but the $199.99 US list price is harder to make sense of if you will not use Garmin Connect, want at-a-glance information, or need phone-free GPS.
