Gallipoli’s first free expansion, Ali Al Muntar, launched on October 1, 2026. It adds a new map and four weapons at no charge; the map opens with British MK I tanks supporting an infantry attack, but players capture its sectors on foot.
What is included in the free Ali Al Muntar Expansion?
BlackMill Games says the free update adds one map, Ali Al Muntar, and four weapons. The developer’s October 1 release announcement confirms the update and its free status: BlackMill Games’ official Gallipoli news archive.
- One map: Ali Al Muntar, set around the British attack on the position during the Second Battle of Gaza.
- Four weapons: included with the free update. The developer’s available announcement material identifies the Pattern 1914 Enfield among the new arms, but does not establish the complete four-weapon list here.
How do the tanks work on the new map?
The map preview describes MK I tanks escorting the British advance toward Samson Ridge at the start of the attack. They operate autonomously in this opening sequence; the preview does not present them as player-driven vehicles. Players advance as infantry and capture the map’s sectors on foot. The tank sequence is therefore part of the map’s opening scenario, not a new vehicle role for players.
What is the map based on?
BlackMill frames Ali Al Muntar around the Second Battle of Gaza and says General Archibald Murray’s second attempt to take Gaza began on April 19, 1917. In the developer’s account, the attack involved tanks, mounted troops, infantry and gas shells; most tanks were destroyed by artillery or disabled by terrain while infantry continued. That is the game developer’s historical framing, not an independently verified history account.

The map preview describes a final sector on a mound crowned by a shrine, or maqām, with trenches, roads and rows of cactus affecting the approaches and sight lines. Those details describe the game map’s design and should not be mistaken for a claim that it reconstructs every feature of the historical battlefield.
Which parts are paid DLC?
The map and weapons are part of the free update. Two separately named cosmetic packs accompanied it, according to BlackMill Games’ release announcement and developer news archive:
- Khaki Pack: introduces the West Kent subfaction.
- Black Watch Pack: introduces a Scottish subfaction.
The developer describes both as cosmetic packs and says owners of the Second Expedition Season Pass receive them as part of that pass. The packs are separate from the free map and weapons; owning one is not described as a requirement to play the expansion.

The announcement establishes that the map and weapons are a free update to Gallipoli, not a standalone game. It does not establish current store prices, regional availability, or whether the game is included in a subscription. BlackMill lists Gallipoli for Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S; check the relevant storefront in your region for current availability and purchase terms.
