On paper, the Samsung Galaxy F70 Pro 5G has the smoother 120Hz display, 4K video recording and larger 6,000mAh typical battery. The right choice depends on the price and storage variant available when you buy: the figures below distinguish historical launch prices from a later Samsung store display.

Where the F70 Pro has the edge
Smoother listed refresh rate
The F70 Pro’s maximum listed refresh rate is 120Hz, compared with 90Hz on the M17. That is the clearest display-specification difference; both are 6.7-inch-class FHD+ Super AMOLED displays. A higher maximum refresh rate can make supported motion appear smoother, but does not by itself establish overall display quality or how often the phone will use that rate.
4K rear video
Samsung lists UHD 4K recording at 30fps for the F70 Pro and FHD 1080p recording at 30fps for the M17. Resolution alone does not determine video quality, so this difference should not be treated as proof that one phone produces better footage in every situation.

Larger stated battery capacity
The F70 Pro lists 6,000mAh typical capacity against the M17’s 5,000mAh typical capacity. Samsung also advertises up to 28 hours of F70 Pro video playback under its stated conditions. These manufacturer figures are not results from a controlled, head-to-head battery test, so they do not establish how much longer the F70 Pro will last in your use.

The M17 retains several core features that may matter more than the F70 Pro’s higher refresh rate or 4K recording: an AMOLED display, 5G, optical image stabilization (OIS) on the rear camera, and Samsung’s stated six-generation OS upgrade policy. Samsung lists IP54 protection and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus for the M17. The cited F70 Pro material does not establish a comparable IP rating, so do not assume its protection is equivalent.

The M17’s listed 13MP front camera has a higher megapixel count than the F70 Pro’s 12MP front camera. Megapixel count alone cannot determine selfie quality. Both phones list the same rear-camera resolutions—50MP, 5MP and 2MP—and OIS; their listed maximum rear-video resolutions differ.
Storage and software support to check
Choose storage for the price you are comparing
The M17 configurations in the cited launch information all have 128GB storage. The F70 Pro is listed in 128GB and 256GB configurations, so compare like-for-like storage where possible. Both product pages list microSD support up to 2TB; card availability and actual usable capacity may vary.

Understand Samsung’s update wording
Samsung says both phones are eligible for six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. For the M17, Samsung labels the information a current plan rather than a commitment. For the F70 Pro, Samsung states the period runs from its first global launch and lists a security update period through 31 July 2032. These are Samsung’s published support statements, not a guarantee that every update will arrive on the same date in every region.

- Consider the F70 Pro if a 120Hz maximum refresh rate, 4K video recording, 6,000mAh stated typical battery capacity, or a 256GB option matters to you—and its current price fits your budget.
- Consider the M17 if you want the lower launch-price tier represented by its 2025 prices and its combination of AMOLED, 5G, OIS, IP54 and stated software support meets your needs. Verify present availability and price; the cited Samsung page was marked “Not for sale” when checked.
- Compare the exact variant and seller price before deciding. The F70 Pro’s ₹39,999 Samsung store display was a later starting price for its 8GB family, not its launch price or a price for every configuration. The M17 and F70 Pro launch figures were published in different years, so they do not show today’s price difference.
This is a comparison of published specifications and dated pricing, not a hands-on or controlled test. Neither battery capacity nor camera resolution alone establishes real-world results.
