Which phone has the better camera?

The S25 FE has the clearer advantage in listed zoom hardware: Samsung specifies a telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom, while the A56 specification page lists digital zoom up to 10×. The FE also lists 2× optical-quality zoom and digital zoom up to 30×. Those specifications describe available camera modes, not a guarantee of better photos in every situation. Samsung’s published specifications do not establish a controlled, head-to-head photo-quality result.

Display, charging and durability

Both phones have a 6.7-inch FHD+ display and a maximum 120 Hz refresh rate. Samsung identifies the A56 panel as Super AMOLED and the S25 FE panel as Dynamic AMOLED 2X; the names alone do not establish how noticeable any difference will be in everyday use.

The FE’s IP68 rating is higher than the A56’s IP67 rating. Samsung’s cited IP68 footnote describes a lab test in fresh water; neither rating means water exposure is harmless in all conditions.

Software support and expected ownership

Samsung states that the S25 FE will receive seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates from its global launch. The A56 commitment is up to six generations of OS upgrades and six years of security updates. The FE therefore has a one-generation and one-year longer stated commitment, but the support time remaining for a buyer depends on when they purchase the phone.

Which should you buy?

Choose the Galaxy A56 5G if

  • Keeping the upfront cost down matters most, and the current price gap is meaningful for your budget.
  • You do not need the FE’s listed 3× optical zoom or wireless charging.
  • A 6.7-inch FHD+ display, 120 Hz maximum refresh rate and 45 W wired charging meet your needs.

Choose the Galaxy S25 FE if

  • You want a dedicated telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom.
  • Wireless charging, an IP68 rating or the longer stated software-support commitment matters to you.
  • The extra cost over the same-storage A56 is justified by those features for your use.

Samsung’s specifications do not establish which phone has longer real-world battery life, faster everyday performance or better overall photo quality. Those comparisons require evidence beyond the published spec sheets.
