Current guides for Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4: Override describe two openable vaults: one at Stone Sanctum and one at Mega Maze. Both use Temple Vault Keys, but Stone Sanctum requires two keys and Mega Maze requires one. Their locations and unlocking steps are season-specific, so check the live map before relying on directions.

Where are the Fortnite vault locations?

Nintendo Life’s guide, published August 21, 2026, and Beebom’s guide, updated September 4, 2026, identify these two Chapter 7 Season 4 vault locations:

  • Stone Sanctum: The vault is beneath the central water area, accessed by placing two Temple Vault Keys on nearby pedestals.
  • Mega Maze: A Temple Vault Key opens a secret route to the vault chamber through a pedestal.

These are current-season guide findings, not an independent live-game check. Fortnite’s map and mechanics can change, so confirm the locations in game. Nintendo Life’s Stone Sanctum guide and Beebom’s Stone Sanctum guide provide location-specific details.

How do you open the Stone Sanctum vault?

  1. Search for two hidden containers near the eastern towers and collect the Temple Vault Keys inside.
  2. Go to the pedestals by the central water and place both keys.
  3. Wait for the water to drain; the vault chamber is revealed below.

Both guides describe this sequence, though they may not provide identical route details. Use the landmarks in the current game rather than assuming a fixed path.

How do you open the Mega Maze vault?

  1. Find the hidden container holding a Temple Vault Key in the maze and break it open.
  2. Take the key to the pedestal and place it there to open the secret door and reach the chamber.

The guides differ on how to locate the container. Nintendo Life describes a container moving through the maze, with its trail visible from above; Beebom describes one revealed by a transparent wall along a maze route. Those descriptions should not be combined into a single guaranteed route. Check Nintendo Life’s Mega Maze guide and Beebom’s Mega Maze guide for their respective directions.

How do the two vaults differ?

Location Temple Vault Keys Key-container clue in current guides Opening sequence
Stone Sanctum Two Hidden containers near the eastern towers Place both keys on pedestals by the central water; the water drains to expose the chamber.
Mega Maze One Nintendo Life describes a moving container with a visible trail from above; Beebom describes a container found via a transparent wall along a maze route. Break the container, take its key to the pedestal, and open the secret route to the chamber.

The key counts and steps above reflect the two guides’ Chapter 7 Season 4 descriptions. They do not establish which vault has better loot or is safer to reach.

Do old Fortnite vault instructions still work?

Not necessarily. Vault mechanics vary by season. Epic Games said Thermite was the “ONLY way to crack a vault” in its Chapter 6 Season 2 announcement. That was a rule for that season, not the Temple Vault Key method described for Chapter 7 Season 4.

What does “vaulted” mean in Fortnite?

This article uses “vault” to mean a hidden room in the map. Epic uses “vaulted” for weapons and other items that were released and later made unavailable. Its glossary explains that items may be vaulted for reasons such as balance, limited-time availability, or glitches; that usage is separate from finding a hidden vault room.
