Calgary prospect Henry Mews is reported to be in the University of Michigan’s lineup for its NCAA opener. The available report does not identify the game date or opponent, or confirm his exact role or the result.
What the lineup report says
The CBS Sports Calgary Flames Roster 2026-27 page displays the headline “In lineup for NCAA opener” alongside Mews’s listing. That supports saying he was reported in the lineup; the reviewed page does not provide the underlying story details or an official game lineup.
The headline does not establish how much Mews played, his specific assignment, or whether Michigan won. It also does not identify the opener’s date or opponent.
Who Henry Mews is
Mews is a defenceman for the University of Michigan. Calgary selected him 74th overall in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. His biography lists nine assists in 10 Michigan games during 2025–26 before a season-ending injury.

Michigan lineup status is separate from Calgary’s NHL roster
Calgary announced its 2026–27 opening-night NHL roster on September 28, 2026. Mews was not among the eight defencemen on that list, according to the Flames’ roster announcement.
That NHL roster is a different context from Michigan’s college lineup. Mews’s absence from Calgary’s opening-night roster does not determine whether he is available for, or included in, a Michigan game lineup.
