Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →If your Astro build reports Missing field tsconfigPaths on BindingViteResolvePluginConfig.resolveOptions, first compare your installed Astro, Vite, and Tailwind package versions with the specific setup linked to this error. An Astro issue opened April 30, 2026 reports it with Astro 6.2.1, @tailwindcss/vite 4.2.4, and Vite 7.3.2; its reported workarounds are switching to Tailwind’s PostCSS plugin or pinning Vite 6. Neither is established as a universal fix.
Confirm the error and your installed versions
The reported failure occurs during a build while processing a Tailwind stylesheet. Before changing configuration, confirm the error text and inspect the versions resolved by your lockfile and package manager. The issue report names this combination: Astro 6.2.1, @tailwindcss/vite 4.2.4, and Vite 7.3.2. It does not show that every Astro, Vite, or Tailwind 4 combination is affected. See the Astro issue report for the affected setup and remedies.

Use the package manager’s dependency-listing command or inspect the lockfile so you record resolved versions rather than relying only on version ranges in package.json.
Try the workarounds reported for the matching setup
The Astro issue documents two alternatives. Choose based on your project’s dependencies and build pipeline, then run the failing build again. The issue does not establish that either workaround is appropriate for other version combinations.

- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
| Option | What changes | When to consider it |
|---|---|---|
| Use Tailwind’s PostCSS plugin | Install @tailwindcss/postcss, remove @tailwindcss/vite from Astro’s Vite plugin configuration, and enable @tailwindcss/postcss in a PostCSS configuration. |
When you want to change how Tailwind is integrated into the build rather than pin Vite. |
| Pin Vite 6 | Change the project’s Vite dependency to version 6. | When Vite 6 is compatible with the project’s other dependencies and a version pin fits its maintenance needs. |
These are remedies reported in the issue, not a general compatibility guarantee. The report provides no cross-version comparison of their trade-offs. After applying one option, build the project using its normal command and confirm the stylesheet is processed successfully.
Check the standard Tailwind 4 setup
Astro and Tailwind’s official Tailwind 4 instructions use @tailwindcss/vite. Astro 5.2.0 and later support astro add tailwind; Astro’s styles and CSS guide also documents manual setup for earlier versions. The standard setup is useful context, but by itself it does not resolve the specific reported failure.

Astro 5.2.0 and later
Astro documents this command to add Tailwind:
astro add tailwind
The official guides use the Vite plugin and Tailwind’s CSS import. A manual configuration has this shape in astro.config.mjs:
import { defineConfig } from "astro/config";
import tailwindcss from "@tailwindcss/vite";
export default defineConfig({
vite: {
plugins: [tailwindcss()],
},
});
Install tailwindcss and @tailwindcss/vite, then put @import "tailwindcss"; in a CSS file and import that file from an Astro page or shared layout. See Tailwind’s Astro installation guide.

Earlier Astro versions
For Astro versions before 5.2.0, follow Astro’s documented manual installation path rather than assuming astro add tailwind is available. Check the guide for the setup appropriate to your installed Astro version.
Remove the legacy integration when migrating from Tailwind 3
Astro marks @astrojs/tailwind deprecated and identifies it as legacy Tailwind 3 support. For a Tailwind 4 migration, Astro’s guidance is to add Tailwind 4 support and remove the old integration and its configuration entry. Follow the Astro styling guide and the integration documentation rather than keeping both setups active.
