If MLB.TV audio is early or late, first switch to another broadcast feed and compare playback in another app. That quickly helps distinguish a feed-specific problem from a delay in your TV, receiver, or speaker setup. MLB’s player instructions document how to switch feeds, but do not describe a manual audio-offset slider.
1. Check whether the delay follows the MLB.TV feed
Use the player’s Broadcast control to select another available video or audio feed, then check another game or title. Also play something in a different streaming app on the same device.
- If only one MLB.TV feed is out of sync, the problem may be specific to that feed or its service path.
- If multiple apps or titles have the same mismatch on one device, investigate the TV, receiver, soundbar, or speaker setup.
- If the mismatch occurs on more than one device, that comparison can help determine whether it is limited to one playback setup.
MLB documents feed selection in its viewing instructions; those instructions do not establish an in-player audio-offset control.

2. Adjust sync settings on the playback device
When the mismatch occurs across apps on the same setup, open the TV or receiver’s Audio or Sound settings and look for A/V Sync, Audio Delay, or Lip-sync. Make small adjustments, replay the same scene, and note whether the sound moves closer to the picture. The exact labels and available controls vary by model.

If sound arrives before the picture
Roku’s guidance suggests disabling advanced picture-processing features as a troubleshooting step when audio comes first. This is model-dependent; consult the TV’s or streaming device’s instructions before changing processing settings.
If sound arrives after the picture
Roku also suggests trying PCM digital audio or turning off Game Mode when audio follows the picture. These are possible device-level checks, not universal fixes, and their availability and effect depend on the equipment.

If you use Apple TV 4K
Apple documents the path Settings > Video and Audio > Calibration > Wireless Audio Sync. It uses an iPhone to calibrate timing between wired and wireless speakers in that playback setup. Apple describes speaker synchronization; this does not guarantee correction of a mismatch originating in an MLB.TV feed.
See Apple’s Apple TV 4K calibration guide and Roku’s A/V sync troubleshooting guidance for device-specific details.

3. Check the network only when playback is unstable, then escalate
If the stream also buffers or stutters, work through MLB’s connection checks: test and restart the network, improve Wi-Fi signal, check bandwidth, or connect directly to the network where possible. If you are using a public-network path such as a cellular hotspot or satellite connection, MLB suggests trying Wi-Fi or LAN instead when available. These checks address stream stability; they do not establish that a network setting caused a steady, feed-specific audio offset.
Follow MLB’s network troubleshooting guidance and network recommendations.
Contact MLB support if one feed stays out of sync
If the same MLB.TV feed remains mismatched after comparing feeds and devices, contact MLB support. Include the game and feed, playback device, operating-system and app versions, whether sound is early or late, and whether other apps or feeds are affected. This information helps describe the fault; MLB’s cited pages do not require a specific report format.
