If images are missing from a Browserless screenshot, first wait for them explicitly and trigger lazy loading by scrolling. In BAP, set waitForImages: true; for REST captures, use scrollPage: true with options.fullPage: true when you need a long page. For fonts, wait for document.fonts.ready in the connected browser session, then check whether the font request succeeded. Waiting cannot fix an asset that was blocked or rejected.
First identify what is missing
Compare the screenshot with the page at the same viewport. That helps separate a timing problem from a capture-boundary issue or a failed request.
- Image area is blank: the image may still be loading, or its request may have failed.
- Only below-the-fold images are missing: the page may load them lazily only after they enter the viewport.
- Text uses the wrong typeface: the web font may not have finished loading, or its request may have failed.
- The whole capture looks wrong: check whether it shows a CAPTCHA, access-denied page, 403 response, or other automation block.
- Some content is absent at the edges: check whether you captured the viewport, full page, a selector, or a clip.
Browserless documents blank pages, CAPTCHA, access denied or 403 responses, and missing or broken elements as possible signs of automation blocking. An extra delay is useful only when a resource is still pending; it cannot make a rejected request succeed.
Make images load before capture
BAP: enable image waiting
Browserless lists waitForImages as false by default. Turn it on for an image-heavy capture:

});Browserless’s BAP troubleshooting guidance says the capture may have happened before images finished loading and recommends waitForImages: true or waiting for a specific element with waitForSelector(). If a known component contains the image, waiting for that selector can provide a more targeted readiness check.
Lazy-loaded images: scroll before capturing
Waiting for images does not itself cause a lazy-loaded image far below the fold to enter the viewport. Scroll through the page first so the site’s lazy-load observers can run, then capture. Use a page-specific scroll routine if the site loads content in stages; a single full-page screenshot is not a guarantee that every lazy image was requested.
REST: combine scrolling with full-page capture
For Browserless’s REST /screenshot endpoint, set the top-level scrollPage option to true, and set options.fullPage to true when the desired result is the complete long page. Scrolling triggers lazy loading; full-page capture controls the area included in the output. They address different parts of the problem.

Make fonts ready for a screenshot
In a connected Puppeteer or Playwright browser session, wait for the page’s font set before taking the screenshot:

Browserless’s BAP screenshot options list waitForImages, not waitForFonts. The waitForFonts option documented by Puppeteer and Browserless applies to PDF generation, so do not assume it is a screenshot flag.
If the typeface still falls back after the readiness check, inspect the font file request in the browser session’s network activity. Confirm the requested URL and response status, and check whether your own request filters or the site’s access controls blocked it. Waiting longer will not repair a failed or inaccessible font file.

Wait for the page’s actual content, not just navigation
Navigation completion and visual readiness are not always the same. Browserless examples use lifecycle waits such as Puppeteer’s networkidle2 or Playwright’s networkidle; its REST screenshot configuration also supports waits for events, functions, selectors, and timeouts. These are checkpoints, not universal guarantees that every image, font, or asynchronously rendered component is ready.
When a page hydrates, fetches data, or renders an image component after navigation, wait for the condition that matters: a selector to appear, a page function to return true, or an explicit image/font readiness check. Browserless recommends a browser connection when the capture needs interaction or waiting for dynamic content.

Browserless REST screenshot requests can reject resource types or matching request patterns through rejectResourceTypes and rejectRequestPattern. Review these settings if stylesheets, images, or fonts disappear. Also inspect the page and asset response statuses: a 403, challenge page, or access-denied result is a different failure from an asset that is merely slow.

If the page itself is being blocked by bot detection, Browserless documents /unblock for bot-detection handling. Use that path for an actual blocking case rather than repeatedly increasing the screenshot delay.
Set the viewport and capture bounds deliberately
Set the viewport before navigation or capture when responsive breakpoints affect the layout. Then choose the capture scope that matches the output you need:
fullPage: truecaptures the full document.selectortargets a particular element.clipcaptures a specified region.
Capture scope affects what can appear in the image, while scrolling affects whether lazy-loaded content is triggered. For a page that uses viewport-based lazy loading, a full-page setting alone may not be enough.
