If AMD Noise Suppression is missing, will not install, or has no effect in an app, check that your PC meets AMD’s requirements first. Then enable the right input or output option in AMD Software and select AMD Streaming Audio Device in the affected app. The feature requires supported AMD hardware and Adrenalin Edition 22.7.1 or newer, and AMD notes a Realtek audio configuration that can prevent installation.
First, identify which problem you have
Work through the checks that match the symptom rather than changing microphones or reinstalling audio hardware. AMD documents the feature’s requirements and setup, but does not provide a complete error-by-error troubleshooting tree.
- Feature missing: check hardware and software eligibility, then look in AMD Software’s audio settings.
- Installation fails: check eligibility and the Realtek ACP-based ANR caveat before trying another driver package.
- Feature is enabled but the app audio is unchanged: check the input/output toggle and the app’s selected AMD audio device.
Check whether your system is eligible
AMD lists these minimum requirements for Noise Suppression: AMD Noise Suppression Technology:
- Ryzen 6000 Series processors with integrated graphics, or newer.
- Radeon RX 6000 Series desktop graphics, or newer.
- AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 22.7.1 or newer.
- Windows 10 or Windows 11.
AMD warns that Noise Suppression may not install on systems equipped with Realtek ACP-based ANR. If your system has that configuration, repeated installation attempts may not resolve the issue.

For the general Adrenalin installer, AMD’s installer requirements specify Windows 10 64-bit version 1809 or later, or Windows 11 version 21H2 or later, for compatible Radeon systems. AMD says requirements can change. Treat those OS minimums as installer guidance, not a substitute for the feature-specific hardware and software requirements above.
Find and enable Noise Suppression in AMD Software
- Open AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition.
- Search within the software for Audio.
- Open Audio & Video Settings.
- Enable AMD Audio Noise Suppression.
- If AMD Software shows a quick start guide on first use, follow its setup prompts.
These labels and steps come from AMD’s setup guidance, which is based on Adrenalin 23.9.1. Exact menus can vary by configuration and software version. AMD also cautions that not every product includes every feature covered in its guides; check the documentation for your specific product in the AMD Support center.

Set the direction and processing device
Noise Suppression can be enabled for microphone input, audio output, or both. In AMD Software, make sure the direction you want is turned on. For example, enabling input suppression will not process output audio.

AMD also provides a choice of CPU or GPU processing. Its documentation identifies these as processing options, not as a measured quality ranking, so choose the available option that suits your setup rather than assuming one is universally better.

Route the affected app through AMD’s audio device
Turning the feature on in AMD Software does not by itself ensure that a game or application uses the processed audio. Open the target app’s audio settings and select AMD Streaming Audio Device for the relevant microphone input or audio output. Confirm that the corresponding input or output Noise Suppression toggle is enabled in AMD Software.
If only one app is unaffected, check that app’s device selection first. Its chosen microphone or output may bypass AMD’s virtual audio device even while the feature is enabled elsewhere.

Update or reinstall Adrenalin if the checks point to software
If your system meets the requirements but AMD Software is missing or cannot be installed, use AMD’s official support pages to identify the package for your hardware. Start at AMD Support and select your product.

AMD’s Auto-Detect & Install tool is another option for supported configurations, but its operating-system scope is narrower than the newer general installer guidance. If the tool does not fit your Windows version or system, use AMD’s product selector instead. Check AMD’s current compatibility guidance before installing because requirements can change.
