If your YouTube Live real estate tour stops when its playlist reaches the end, first check whether the broadcast ended or only playback on your device stopped. If the incoming feed ends at the playlist boundary, enable repeat in the player or playout service feeding your encoder, then test that the feed continues through a full cycle in YouTube Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder guidance says a stream ends when the encoder stops sending content; that makes source exhaustion a likely place to investigate, but it does not establish the cause of every such failure.
First, identify what stopped
YouTube distinguishes the watchable live broadcast from the stream: the stream is the audio-video feed sent to YouTube, while the broadcast is the event viewers watch. Check the Live Control Room before changing settings.
- The broadcast ended or the preview froze at the playlist boundary: investigate the media source, playlist repeat setting, and encoder continuity.
- The broadcast is still live and the preview continues, but playback stopped on one device: troubleshoot that viewer’s playback route rather than restarting the source.
YouTube recommends checking the preview before starting and monitoring stream quality while live. Its encoder guide says, “To end the stream, stop sending content from your encoder.” If the outgoing feed stops as the tour playlist ends, source playback is a sensible first check; it is an inference from YouTube’s workflow, not a confirmed diagnosis of your particular setup. Make the real-estate tour source repeat
- Find the actual source feeding the encoder. This may be a video player, a playlist in streaming software, or a hosted playout service. A playlist in your YouTube watch page is not necessarily the source being sent to the encoder.
- Enable repeat at that source. Set the individual tour video or the playlist to loop continuously in the player or service that feeds the encoder. There is no universal YouTube Live Control Room loop switch for an unspecified encoder; the repeat control depends on the source and software you use.
- Keep the encoder running. Confirm it continues sending audio and video after the source reaches the end. If the source player closes, pauses, or stops output at the cycle boundary, the encoder may have nothing to send.
- Check the Control Room preview across the boundary. Confirm the preview is still moving and the broadcast remains live as the first tour ends and the next cycle begins.
Before relying on the setup unattended, run a controlled test—such as an unlisted stream—and watch it through at least one complete playlist transition. YouTube recommends test streams, preview checks, and continued quality monitoring. YouTube Help: Get started with live streaming

If your encoder uses HLS ingestion
HLS ingestion has technical media playlists that describe ordered media segments. These are different from a playlist of property-tour videos or a viewer’s YouTube playlist. Apply HLS-specific checks only if your encoder is sending HLS to YouTube.
- Send the media playlists and media segments expected by YouTube’s HLS workflow.
- Keep segment sequence numbers increasing monotonically and send updated playlists for each segment.
- Do not leave more than five outstanding segments in a playlist.

When local looping is not enough
If the encoder or computer must stay on for the source to repeat, compare a hosted playout or continuous-streaming service. Before switching, confirm its loop behavior, recovery after a network or process interruption, stream-health visibility, and support for your media format and YouTube. YouTube’s encoder guide lists software and hosted-service examples, but that listing is not an endorsement; verify current capabilities, pricing, reliability, and terms with each provider.
