If your Galaxy phone has One UI 9, start with features that change how you capture video, shape your daily summary, manage support, and handle conversations: My FanCam, editable Now Brief cards, Warranty and Care, Now Nudge, and Interpreter’s Thread View. Samsung announced these capabilities, but availability depends on your device, region, language, and—in some cases—your Samsung Account or network connection.
Before you try One UI 9 features
Samsung announced on September 16, 2026, that the One UI 9 rollout was beginning on Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra. Samsung says the software debuted on Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Z Fold8, and Z Flip8, with updates expected to reach other Galaxy devices gradually. That is not a complete eligibility list, and the rollout does not mean every device has the update yet. Check your phone’s software update screen for its current status. Samsung’s rollout announcement says feature availability can vary by country, region, language, model, and app.
Samsung described One UI 9 as based on Android 17 in its May 12, 2026 beta announcement. Beta enrollment and supported devices varied by market and changed in later announcements; those beta details are not the same as the stable rollout schedule. Samsung’s beta announcement and its September 1 beta expansion provide that context.
1. My FanCam: keep one person in frame
My FanCam tracks a person you select and reframes recorded video as the scene moves. Try it when filming a performer, a family gathering, or a sports moment where you want to follow one person rather than keep adjusting the phone yourself.

Look for My FanCam in the camera or video tools on an updated, compatible Galaxy device; Samsung’s announcement does not give a universal menu path. A Samsung Account is required. The feature may not work with every video, cannot track footage with no subject, and Samsung does not guarantee tracking accuracy. See Samsung’s feature and availability notes.
2. Editable Now Brief cards: make the daily summary yours
Now Brief provides a daily summary, and One UI 9 lets users choose which cards appear, including health, weather, and video. Adjusting the cards can make the brief more useful if you want it to reflect your own routines and interests rather than show the same mix of information each day. Samsung also described customizable cards tailored to routines and interests in its Galaxy S26 beta feature update.

Look for Now Brief and its card controls in the feature’s settings or interface; Samsung has not specified one path that applies to every model. Now Brief requires a Samsung Account. Functions vary by country, region, language, model, and app, and some require a network connection. Samsung says generated content uses personal information you consent to share and is not guaranteed to be accurate. Check Samsung’s availability and data-use qualifications.
3. Warranty and Care: check support from Settings
Warranty and Care brings device-support tools together in Settings. Samsung says users can check warranty coverage for connected mobile devices, run self-diagnostics, view repair estimates, manage Samsung Care+, or book service. It is worth trying when you need to check a linked device or find the available support options without searching across separate services.

Open Settings and look for Warranty and Care; the exact availability and controls may differ by device and market. A displayed estimate is not a guaranteed repair cost. Coverage, Care+ terms, pricing, eligibility, and service fees also vary by market and device. Samsung lists these regional and device limits.
4. Now Nudge: get help without leaving a conversation
Now Nudge can surface relevant suggestions while you are messaging. For example, when a conversation turns to plans, Samsung says it can bring up reservation details or let you save a location shared in the chat. The appeal is convenience: you can act on the information without switching away from the conversation.

Now Nudge requires a Samsung Account, and support varies by app. Samsung names Samsung Messages, Google Messages, and Google Chat as examples of messaging apps that support text prompts. Results are not guaranteed accurate, so check a surfaced detail before relying on it. Samsung’s announcement describes supported apps and limitations.

Interpreter translates conversations, and its new Thread View lets you refer back to earlier exchanges. That is useful when a conversation moves quickly and you need to review what was said rather than depend on the latest translated line alone. Samsung also says Conversation Mode translation is faster and playback is quicker with compatible Galaxy Buds.

Open Interpreter on a compatible device and look for Thread View; the precise interface and availability can vary. Some languages require a downloaded language pack, while supported languages and features vary by region and carrier. Samsung cautions that translation accuracy is not guaranteed. Review Samsung’s language and availability notes.
How to choose what to try first
- For filming: Start with My FanCam if you want to keep a selected person in the shot.
- For a more relevant daily overview: Customize Now Brief cards to match the information you want surfaced.
- For device support: Open Warranty and Care to find diagnostics and service options for connected devices.
- For messaging: Try Now Nudge in a supported app when plans or shared places come up.
- For translated conversations: Use Interpreter’s Thread View when reviewing earlier translated exchanges would help.
Samsung has also announced other One UI 9 additions, including Creative Studio prompts, Document Scan improvements, structured Voice Recorder summaries, Security Brief alerts, Privacy Alerts, and an expansion of Scam Detection. Their availability is also subject to device and market limits; Samsung says Scam Detection will be available in Japan, Canada, and India.
