The Fisher & Paykel RF605QNUVB1 is a 538 L usable-capacity, four-door refrigerator with ice, water and a 99 L compartment that can be switched among four temperature modes. Its flexibility is the main reason to consider it; its 905 mm width, installation clearances, plumbing/filter needs and the limits of available owner feedback deserve equal attention before you buy.
What the RF605QNUVB1 is—and how much it holds
Fisher & Paykel identifies the RF605QNUVB1 as a Series 7 quad-door refrigerator freezer with ice and water. The Australian quick reference guide dated 6 June 2025 lists 538 L of usable capacity, compared with 605 L total gross capacity. Those figures are not interchangeable: usable volume is the more meaningful figure when judging everyday storage.

The 99 L zone is in addition to the dedicated refrigerator and freezer compartments, but it is not permanently one or the other. Its value depends on whether your household will use the ability to change its role.

What the variable-temperature zone can do
The manufacturer lists four settings for the variable compartment: Chill, Fridge, Soft Freeze and Freezer. You can allocate that space to suit changing needs—for example, use it as extra chilled storage or set it for frozen food. Fisher & Paykel describes its variable-temperature zones as giving users “full control over the way you care for food”; that is manufacturer language about the feature, not independent evidence of improved food life or performance.

This flexibility is most useful if your shopping or entertaining needs vary. If you always need the same amount of refrigerator and freezer space, a fixed-layout model may make better use of your budget and kitchen footprint.
Dimensions, clearances and delivery fit
The Australian guide gives the cabinet dimensions as 905 mm wide, 1790 mm high and 688 mm deep. It specifies minimum air clearances of 30 mm at the rear and 20 mm at each side and above. Measure the intended space with those clearances in mind, then check the current installation guide for any further requirements.

- Measure the opening, including cabinetry and any trim that affects usable width or height.
- Check the route from the entrance to the kitchen: doors, hallways, turns and stairs can constrain delivery even when the final space is large enough.
- Check how the doors and drawers open in your kitchen layout, particularly where a wall, island or adjacent cabinet may limit access.
Ice, water and filter ownership
The model includes an internal automatic ice maker, an Ice Boost function and a water dispenser. It also has an internal replaceable water filter. The Australian guide lists Fisher & Paykel replacement filter 847200, also identified as FWC3, as sold separately. Check the part number and local compatibility before ordering; filter replacement is a recurring ownership cost.

Energy use and other listed features
For Australia, Fisher & Paykel’s 2025 guide lists a 4-star energy rating and estimated use of 396 kWh per year. These are regional published figures, not a universal rating; compare the energy label for the model sold in your market and account for your local electricity tariff when estimating running cost.
The guide also lists adjustable shelves and door bins, produce bins, full-extension drawers, frost-free operation, humidity control and an inverter-controlled compressor. These are listed specifications, not independent proof of particular food-freshness outcomes, quietness or long-term durability.

What owner reviews can—and cannot—tell you
Feedback is mixed, and the available review counts need context. ProductReview.com.au shows three reviews under the exact RF605QNUVB1 listing: one owner reports repeated compressor failures, while other reviewers praise the finish, layout, ice maker, water dispenser and usability. Three accounts are too few to establish a product-wide failure rate or a reliable verdict on durability.
Appliances Online displays 172 reviews and a 4.7 overall rating on its product page, but notes that reviews may include alternate variants. Comments include praise for storage layout and cooling, alongside complaints about dispenser behavior and drawer access. The Good Guys also shows largely positive recent feedback, with an owner reporting that doors can remain ajar if not firmly closed. These are voluntary customer experiences, not controlled tests; variant mixing and selection effects limit what they show about this exact model.
