The Fisher & Paykel CI754DTB2 is a 75 cm, four-zone induction cooktop with useful features such as PowerBoost, GentleHeat and touch-and-slide controls. Its specifications look capable, but the available public evidence does not establish how it performs in independent testing. Availability also varies by market: CHOICE Australia lists it as discontinued, while Fisher & Paykel still has a China-market product page. Check local stock and installation requirements before buying.
What the CI754DTB2 offers
Fisher & Paykel describes the CI754DTB2 as a Series 7 Contemporary cooktop with a black glass surface, four induction zones and nine heat settings. Controls use a Touch and Slide interface with a dual-colour display.
Each zone has a published normal-power and PowerBoost rating. These are manufacturer specifications, not independent measurements:
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches| Zone | Normal power | PowerBoost |
|---|---|---|
| Left front | 2,300 W | 3,700 W |
| Left rear | 1,400 W | 2,200 W |
| Right front | 1,850 W | 3,000 W |
| Right rear | 1,850 W | 3,000 W |
PowerBoost is intended to provide a short burst of higher heat. Fisher & Paykel says it can bring liquid to a boil in less than a minute; that is the manufacturer’s claim, not a verified result for a particular pan, volume or starting temperature. GentleHeat is another listed feature for lower-heat cooking. The cooktop also has an automatic cutoff timer for each zone and a separate minute timer. (Fisher & Paykel product listing)

Does it have good independent reviews?
The published specifications establish what features and power ratings Fisher & Paykel lists, but they do not show how evenly the cooktop heats, how intuitive it is in daily use or how reliable it has been over time. CHOICE Australia lists the CI754DTB2 as discontinued, with four zones, a 75 cm width and 7.4 kW maximum output. Its listing says the model was tested in 2023 or earlier, but performance, reliability and satisfaction scores are available only to members. No public score should be inferred from that listing. (CHOICE Australia listing)
On the evidence that is publicly available, the CI754DTB2 has a feature-rich specification, but there is not enough open test evidence to call it a proven top performer. If independent test results are important to your decision, check whether you can access CHOICE’s member information or compare alternatives with disclosed test results.

Will it fit your bench and electrical setup?
The appliance measures 750 mm wide, 530 mm deep and 49 mm high. Those are the cooktop’s overall dimensions, not the required bench cutout dimensions. Do not use them alone to decide whether it will fit an existing opening.
Fisher & Paykel lists a 220–240 V supply. Before purchase, have a qualified installer check the current installation guide for your country and configuration, the bench cutout and clearances, and the available circuit capacity. An older 2014 data sheet contains clearance diagrams, but historical diagrams are not a substitute for the current market-specific installation instructions.

- Fisher & Paykel electric cooktops feature powerful ribbon elements that heat up quickly and maintain an even temperature. AutoHeat mode boosts power and then automatically adjusts to your chosen setting for faster cooking.
- Precise Control - The cooktop touch controls are easy to use, responsive and accurate across a range of cooking temperatures – from a rapid boil to a slow simmer. The timer function can be used as a simple minute minder.
- Easy To Clean - A flat ceramic glass profile makes cleaning the cooktop fast and simple. Cooktop elements automatically shut down when a spill is detected, minimizing baked-on grime.
- Safety Cut-Off - Spill detection technology automatically shuts off hot elements when pots or pans overflow onto the controls, preventing ruined meals.
- Sized To Suit - These electric cooktops come in a range of sizes to suit every kitchen design. Because they’re perfectly flat and cool down fast, they can be used as an extension to your preparation surface when switched off.
The 2026 quick guide lists joining kit part 534731 for installations that join two cooktops. It is not a general requirement for an ordinary standalone CI754DTB2 installation. (Fisher & Paykel 2026 quick guide)
What cookware works on it?
The pan must be compatible with induction. A pan that does not work with induction will not heat properly on this cooktop. If you are unsure about cookware you already own, check its manufacturer’s specifications or test its induction compatibility before relying on it for a new installation.

- Complementary Design - The subtle black glass and durable matte black detailing are designed to pair with the Minimal style Series 7 Ovens. With premium styling and detailing, these cooktops seamlessly blend with other appliances for a cohesive, considered kitchen design.
- Enhanced Features - PowerBoost and GentleHeat deliver either very high or very low heat, fast. Perfect for specialized cooking tasks such as searing meat and melting chocolate. An integrated timer ensures a great result every time.
- Safer Choice - Induction cooktops only start heating your pot or pan once you’ve placed it on the ceramic surface and stop as soon as you remove it – so you don’t have to worry about curious little fingers or leaving a cook surface on.
- Easy Cleaning - The surface around your cookware stays cool when you cook – preventing baked-on spills and making cleaning up a breeze. The ceramic cooktop surface, including anodized detailing for durability, just needs a quick wipe after use to maintain its good looks.
Fisher & Paykel identifies cast iron as highly inductive and suitable for high-heat searing. Its product copy also says induction heats the cookware rather than the cooktop surface and that the area around cookware stays cool. Treat those as general manufacturer descriptions, not a measurement of household energy savings or a guarantee that the glass surface will never be hot; the cooktop includes hot-surface indicators. Safety and energy specifications
Listed safety features include pan detection, keylock, a safety timeout, spill auto-off and hot-surface indicators. These features help manage common risks, but they do not replace following the installation guide and operating instructions.

Is the CI754DTB2 discontinued?
CHOICE Australia marks the model discontinued, while Fisher & Paykel’s cited product page is for the China market. Those listings do not establish whether the cooktop is in stock or supported in another country. Check with Fisher & Paykel or local retailers for availability, country-specific warranty terms and service options before committing to a purchase. No current price or country-specific warranty terms are established here.
