The Fisher & Paykel CI604DTB2 is a 60 cm induction cooktop with four zones and two SmartZones that can pair adjacent cooking areas for larger cookware. Its most useful distinction is that flexible layout; before choosing one, confirm the cutout dimensions for your exact market and check local availability. The specifications below come from Fisher & Paykel and CHOICE Australia, not hands-on testing.
What the CI604DTB2 offers
Fisher & Paykel lists the CI604DTB2 as a Series 7, four-zone induction cooktop. Its controls and cooking features include Touch&Slide, nine heat settings, PowerBoost, GentleHeat, a minute timer, and a separate auto cut-off timer for each zone. Zone bridging lets the paired SmartZones operate together.
The manufacturer describes SmartZone as linking two cooking zones and controlling them as one, allowing larger pans and griddles to be used across the paired area. That is the cooktop’s practical advantage over a layout limited to individually sized zones; it does not establish a particular pan size or guarantee that every griddle will fit.

SmartZones and bridging
Pair the relevant adjacent zones when cooking with a larger pan or griddle, rather than treating the cooktop as one continuous heating surface. Fisher & Paykel says the linked zones can handle larger items such as pancakes. Check cookware dimensions and the operating guide to understand placement and control for your cookware.

PowerBoost and GentleHeat
PowerBoost provides a higher-power setting. Fisher & Paykel says it can bring liquid to a boil in less than a minute; that is a manufacturer claim, not an independently verified result for this review. GentleHeat is intended for low-heat tasks. The manufacturer guide lists each zone at 2100 W and a PowerBoost setting of 3700 W; these are its specifications, not independent measurements.
Touch controls and timers
Touch&Slide controls let you adjust zone settings. The cooktop also has a minute timer and an auto cut-off timer for each zone, which can help manage cooking without serving as a substitute for supervision.

Dimensions, power and installation fit
Published dimensions differ between sources, so do not use one region’s listing as a universal cutout specification. Fisher & Paykel’s quick reference guide dated 23 April 2026 lists the dimensions and electrical details below. CHOICE Australia’s listing gives a different overall footprint and an installation opening; it identifies the model as discontinued in Australia and reports testing from 2023 or earlier.

Because the official guide and CHOICE dimensions do not match, measure the cabinet opening and check the rating plate and installation documentation supplied for the exact appliance and market before ordering or cutting a countertop. Have a qualified electrician confirm that the supply and installation are appropriate; the guide’s voltage range alone does not establish every site’s electrical requirements.

Safety and cleaning
Listed safety features include pan detection, keylock, safety time out, spillage auto-off, and hot-surface indicators. Induction heats compatible cookware when it is placed on the cooking area, but cookware can transfer residual heat to the glass. Follow the indicators and manual, and let the surface cool before cleaning. The flat glass surface has no raised burners to work around, though care is still needed to avoid scratching or damaging it.
Availability and independent test evidence
CHOICE Australia marks the CI604DTB2 discontinued in Australia. That status does not establish whether it is discontinued globally or whether any retailer currently has stock; availability needs to be checked in the buyer’s country with a local retailer or Fisher & Paykel. The manufacturer’s Asia product page being accessible does not confirm Australian stock or availability in other markets.

CHOICE’s listing says its test year was 2023 or earlier, but detailed performance data is members-only. Current price, warranty duration, service costs, and repair-part availability are also not established by the cited listings.
