If FireShot’s full-page screenshot has blank spaces or image placeholders, scroll through the page first, wait for the images to appear, then capture the entire page. FireShot support recommends scrolling to the bottom before retrying when a capture has not finished loading. This helps when the page delays off-screen images until they are needed, but it will not fix every page-specific capture problem.
Why lazy-loaded images can be missing
Lazy loading is a page behavior: images outside or near the edge of the visible area may not be fetched or displayed until you scroll toward them. A screenshot tool cannot capture image content the page has not rendered yet. If you start a full-page capture before those images load, the result may show placeholders or blank areas. That is a likely explanation, not proof that every FireShot failure has the same cause. MDN’s explanation of lazy loading describes how pages defer loading resources.

Try this sequence before capturing
- Open the page and let its initial load settle. Wait for the content at the top to finish appearing.
- Scroll down gradually through the full area you want to capture. Pause where images are still placeholders or blank so the page has time to load them. FireShot support specifically recommends manually scrolling to the bottom when a page capture has not finished loading: Capture entire page fail and Screen capture does not capture the entire webpage.
- Check the live page. Confirm that the images themselves have appeared before starting the capture. Scrolling alone is not enough if the page is still showing placeholders.
- Run FireShot’s “Capture entire page” command. Save the result and inspect the areas that were blank or incomplete.
- If needed, capture the affected scrolling area separately. FireShot lists scrolling-area capture as an option, but complex layouts can still cause problems. Its product page describes full-page, visible-area, and selection capture.
Choose the capture mode that matches the problem
| Mode | What it captures | When it helps |
|---|---|---|
| Entire page | The full webpage, beyond the current viewport | Use after scrolling through the page and confirming the delayed images have appeared. |
| Visible area | Only the currently visible viewport | Useful for checking whether an image has rendered in the area currently on screen; it does not capture the rest of the page. |
| Selected area | A region you select | Useful when the problem is limited to a particular area; it will not capture content outside that selection. |
These modes are listed by FireShot. If the page has a nested scrolling area or a fixed header, the relevant content may not behave like ordinary page scrolling. FireShot support has reports about scrolling screenshots and a fixed header on a scrolling page; individual reports do not establish a universal defect or a universal fix.
If the image still does not appear
- Try scrolling and pausing again, then verify the image is visible in the live page before capturing.
- Check whether the content is inside its own scrolling panel rather than the main page. If it is, scroll within that panel and try capturing the relevant area separately.
- Record the page URL if it can be shared, your browser and operating-system versions, your FireShot version, the capture command you used, and whether the image appeared on the live page before capture.
- Use those details to report a reproducible case in the official FireShot support forum. The available support reports do not establish that upgrading to a paid tier fixes lazy-loading problems.
Or skip the browser setup
If you need a screenshot API instead of a browser-extension workflow, ScreenshotNeo returns a screenshot or PDF from one request. For example, this cURL command saves a WebP screenshot of the target page; see the ScreenshotNeo documentation for API options.

Browser extension listings and versions can change. Check the listing for your own browser before relying on version-specific details. At the indexed listing snapshot, the FireShot Chrome Web Store page showed version 2.1.4.18, updated 23 May 2026. That listing snapshot does not measure how often lazy-loaded images cause capture failures.
