Yes. To sync Firefox across devices, sign in to the same Mozilla account in Firefox on each one. Signing in enables Sync; you can then choose which types of browser data Firefox syncs.
How to connect Firefox on another device
On desktop, select Sign in from the Firefox toolbar or menu and follow the Mozilla account sign-in flow. Firefox enables Sync as part of that process. On each additional device, sign in to the same Mozilla account.
For platform-specific instructions on a phone or tablet, follow Mozilla’s Firefox Sync setup guidance. Sync availability may be limited in some regions by local regulations, network restrictions, or compliance requirements, according to Mozilla’s overview of how Sync works.
What Firefox can sync
You can select categories such as bookmarks, browsing history, open tabs, passwords, addresses, payment methods, add-ons or extensions, and browser settings. Manage these choices in Firefox Sync settings; you do not have to sync every category.

Mozilla says add-ons or extensions and settings sync only between desktop versions of Firefox. Other category availability can depend on the platform. See Mozilla’s instructions for choosing what Firefox syncs.
Signing in is not the same as syncing every category
Your Mozilla account connects Firefox installations, but you can stay signed in while turning off all Sync data categories. In that case, the account remains signed in but no listed category is being synced. Signing out disconnects that Firefox installation and stops Sync on it.

Firefox can also send a tab to another device when you are signed in. Mozilla says this feature is available independently of Sync, so sending a tab does not mean that your other Sync categories are enabled.

What to know about encryption and recovery
Mozilla says Sync data is encrypted on your device before it is sent, and that Mozilla cannot decrypt the stored data. Its support page, “How Firefox Sync keeps your data safe even if TLS fails,” last updated September 18, 2025, states: “Firefox Sync ensures that your data is encrypted before it ever leaves your device, and that the password to unlock this encryption is never transmitted to the server.” This is Mozilla’s description of its service, not an independent security audit.

Take care before resetting your Mozilla account password: Mozilla warns that resetting it without recovery keys deletes data stored on the remote Sync server. That remote copy is distinct from data stored locally on your devices. Signing out can also offer an option to delete local data, so review Mozilla’s account and Sync recovery guidance before resetting a password or removing local data.
If you sign in to Mozilla using Google or Apple, you may still be asked to set a Mozilla account password for Sync encryption. Mozilla describes this requirement in its Google or Apple sign-in guidance.
