On most current Samsung Galaxy phones, open Settings > Security and privacy > More privacy settings. For app access controls, open Privacy or Permission manager from the privacy options on that screen. If your phone has a separate Privacy menu, use Settings > Privacy instead.
Open the main privacy settings
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Security and privacy.
- Tap More privacy settings to see additional controls. For app permissions, choose Privacy or Permission manager, depending on the options shown.
Samsung’s current support guide describes the combined Security and privacy menu. The available controls and labels can differ across models and software versions. Samsung’s Security and privacy guide outlines the current route.
Change an app’s access to a permission
In Permission manager, choose a category such as Camera or Microphone, then select an app to review its access. Depending on the permission and software, choices may include allowing access, denying it, allowing it only while the app is in use, or asking every time. Denying access may stop some app features from working.

You can also check an individual app’s permissions through Settings > Apps > [app] > Permissions, replacing [app] with the app’s name. Samsung documents this route in its app permissions guide.

If you don’t see “Security and privacy”
Some Galaxy software shows a separate Privacy section. In that case, go to Settings > Privacy > Permission manager. Samsung’s support material documents both this route and the combined menu; its Auto Blocker guidance, updated July 22, 2026, notes that “Menu names, settings, and screen layouts may vary depending on the model and software version.”
If neither path matches, use the search field at the top of Settings and search for Privacy or Permission manager. The exact route depends on the phone model and installed software.

Samsung Browser privacy is a separate screen
If you mean website-browsing protections rather than phone-wide app permissions, open Samsung Browser > Tools (the three vertical dots) > Privacy.
