If Fidium Fiber is not working, first check whether the problem affects one device or the whole home. A single-device failure usually points to that device, its WiFi connection, or its cable; multiple devices failing calls for checks of power, the ONT and Gateway, maintenance notices, and the provider connection. Restart the ONT first and the Gateway second, but do not touch the fiber cable or press a reset button unless Fidium support tells you to.
Why is my Fidium internet not working?
Use the scope of the problem to choose your next step. If just one phone, computer, or other device cannot connect, begin with that device. If several devices are offline—including devices connected by Ethernet—the issue may involve the Gateway, ONT, power, maintenance, or Fidium’s network.

- One device is offline: Check its WiFi settings or wired connection before assuming there is a Fidium outage.
- Several devices are offline: Check that the ONT and Gateway have power and that the Ethernet connections are secure.
- Service stopped during or after a power outage: Confirm power has returned, then restart the ONT and Gateway in order.
- You received a planned-maintenance notice: Follow the service window in the notice before troubleshooting further.
Fidium’s Attune WiFi apps can monitor connection health and status for supported customers. The available guidance does not establish a public, address-specific live outage checker or restoration estimate; check the app or contact Fidium for information about your address. If one device cannot join WiFi
- Make sure WiFi is enabled on the device.
- Select the correct network and enter its current password.
- Restart the device, then try connecting again.
- Check whether another device can connect to the same network. If others can, focus on the device that is failing.
If you use a WiFi extender, check that it is powered and operating normally as well. Fidium’s device guidance recommends checking the network connection and trying another device to determine whether the issue is local or broader. Fidium: Device is not connecting to network

If one wired device is offline
Reseat the Ethernet connection at both the device and Gateway, then try a different Ethernet cable if available. If other devices still work, a problem with the affected device, its Ethernet port, or its cable is more likely than a service-wide outage. Fidium: Device is not connecting to network
Check ONT and Gateway power and connections
Fidium home internet depends on household electricity for both the ONT and Gateway. Even if the provider network remains active during a power outage, your home connection will not work if these devices have no power. Check that both devices are powered and inspect the Ethernet connections between them; do not unplug, bend, or otherwise tamper with the fiber-optic cable. Fidium: How to Reboot Your ONT & Gateway

Restart the ONT and Gateway in the right order
Fidium’s reboot instructions call for restarting the ONT first and the Gateway second. Follow the sequence below rather than restarting both at once:
- Power off the ONT and unplug it for 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the ONT and turn it on. Check that the Ethernet connections are secure.
- Unplug the Gateway for at least 15 seconds, then reconnect it.
- Allow the Gateway as long as 15 minutes to start fully before deciding whether service has returned.
Do not press a reset button as a shortcut. Fidium advises using reset buttons only when support directs you; a hard reset can erase customized settings. Fidium: How to Reboot Your ONT & Gateway Fidium: Connection issues with WiFi gateway

What to do after a power outage or during planned maintenance
After a power outage
Once household power returns, Fidium says service usually resumes automatically. If it does not, restart the ONT and then the Gateway using the steps above. A UPS or generator can supply backup electricity to the ONT and Gateway during an outage, but runtime depends on the equipment’s power draw and the backup system’s capacity; backup power does not repair a provider-side service problem. During a notified maintenance window
If Fidium sent you a notice about planned network enhancement work, it says no action is needed during the stated window and service should resume within the timeframe in that notice. Could your own router or home network be the problem?
Fidium allows customers to use their own WiFi equipment, but support is more limited than with Fidium-provided devices. Customers are responsible for maintaining and updating their equipment. If the ONT and incoming connection are working but the fault is in customer-owned equipment or the home network, Fidium notes that a service dispatch may be charged.
For 1 Gig service and below, Fidium says most Ethernet gateways should be sufficient. For 2 Gig service, it specifies at least one 2.5G Ethernet port on the gateway. These are connection requirements, not a guarantee that any particular router model is compatible or will resolve a service outage. Fidium: Using your own WiFi equipment

If you have checked device scope, power and connections, completed the ONT-then-Gateway restart, and ruled out a notified maintenance window without restoring service, contact Fidium at 1.844.434.3486.
