Arc for Windows is built around a few distinctive browsing workflows: keeping work and personal activity in separate Spaces, viewing two pages together in Split View, navigating tabs from the keyboard, and keeping media accessible while you browse elsewhere. It is available for Windows 10 version 19H1 or higher, and Arc’s FAQ describes it as Chromium-based with support for Chrome extensions. Arc’s download page lists the Windows version.
Keep different kinds of browsing in separate Spaces
Spaces are Arc’s way of grouping browsing by context in one window. You might keep work tabs in one Space and personal research or hobbies in another, rather than mixing everything into one long tab collection or opening several unrelated browser windows. Arc presents Spaces and Profiles as tools for organizing activities such as work, study, and hobbies. Arc describes Spaces and Profiles on its homepage.
Profiles can be assigned to Spaces, and Arc’s Windows release notes document examples of creating Spaces and assigning profiles. That supports treating them as separate browsing contexts, but it does not establish that every kind of data syncs between profiles or devices.
Compare pages without constantly switching tabs
Split View puts two tabs in one view, either side by side or one above the other. It is useful when you need to consult a source while writing notes, compare a reference with a draft, or keep instructions visible beside the page where you are following them. Arc’s Windows and macOS documentation describes both horizontal and vertical layouts. See Arc’s Split View guide.

On Windows, the documented shortcut is Ctrl+Shift++. You can also use the command bar to add a split and choose its direction. Once created, the split appears as its own sidebar tab, so you can return to that paired view later instead of rebuilding it.
Navigate with the command bar and Ctrl-Tab
The command bar is a keyboard-oriented way to reach browser actions and destinations. Arc’s multitasking guide says it can open a tab, switch to an existing tab, open an extension, find a folder, or create a Space or folder. That makes it useful when you remember what you want to reach but do not want to hunt through the sidebar.

Ctrl+Tab returns to the last tab; holding Ctrl lets you move further back through recent tabs, according to Arc’s guide. This is a simple alternative to scanning a crowded tab strip. Arc’s multitasking guide documents these keyboard workflows.
Keep a video or audio session within reach
When you leave a tab that is playing video or audio, Arc’s guide describes a sidebar controller for the media. For video, it also documents a picture-in-picture window, which Arc calls the Mini Player. That can keep a video visible while you look at another tab—for example, while following along with a tutorial. These are documented behaviors, not a claim about playback performance across every site.

Capture and customize what you find
Easels are in-browser canvases for collecting web material, brainstorming, mood-boarding, or writing. Items captured from the web link back to their original pages. Arc’s guide says Easels can be private, shared, or collaborative; Live Capture can place an interactive portion of a webpage onto an Easel. Arc’s guide to Easels and customization describes these tools.
The same guide describes Themes for choosing a color or gradient for a Space, and custom tabs that can be renamed or given a different icon. It also calls Boosts “a really early experiment,” so Windows users should not assume Boosts are a settled or consistently available feature in the current Windows build.

What to know about Arc’s Windows updates
Arc’s current homepage and download page say that Arc receives Chromium updates only and direct people seeking active security patches and enterprise-grade protection toward Dia. This is Arc’s present product messaging, not an independent comparison of browser security. It is an important consideration if ongoing security updates are a deciding factor. Arc’s homepage and download page state the caveat.
Arc’s Windows release-notes page records dated Chromium updates and other fixes, with entries through April 16, 2026. For example, the page lists version 1.102.0 with Chromium 147.0.7727.102 on that date. Those entries show what the changelog recorded at those dates; they do not promise a future update schedule. In a September 27, 2024 security post, CEO Josh Miller said the company had started and would continue including security-focused fixes in release notes. That was a statement of the company’s practice at the time, not independent proof of Arc’s present security posture. Windows release notes and the 2024 security post provide the dated details.

The official download page lists Windows 10 19H1 or higher. Arc’s support page also identifies the Microsoft Store as a download route. Arc’s Windows support page describes the available download locations.
