There is no single best Amp in EA SPORTS FC 27. The right one depends on the Archetype you are using, the attribute or PlayStyle you want, and whether the Amp still has match uses left. This guide covers Amps in The Grounds, the Clubs mode, where EA calls them Accelerated Match Performance items. It does not cover Ultimate Team player items.
EA’s official Help article describes them this way: “Accelerated Match Performance items (Amps) are a type of item in EA SPORTS FC™ 27 that give you more control over how your Archetype performs on the pitch.” (EA Help: How Amps work in EA SPORTS FC 27)
What an Amp can give your Archetype
Amps are temporary items equipped to an active Archetype. Depending on the item, an Amp can add attribute increases, a PlayStyle or PlayStyle+, a perk, or an extra bonus when it matches the Archetype’s Affinity. EA describes four tiers, and the difference between the lower and upper pair is the main thing to check on the item panel.

EA’s FC 27 Launch Update (September 2026) adds two design points. Standard Amps let you test a different style for a few games without rebuilding the whole Archetype. Player-themed Signature Amps are built around specific football stars.

How to choose the best Amp for your build
Because EA does not rank Amps, judge each option against your own Archetype. Compare the candidates on five points:
- Archetype fit. Does the attribute or PlayStyle support the role you actually play?
- Package size. Compare how many attribute boosts and how strong a PlayStyle, perk or Affinity bonus each Amp adds.
- Affinity match. A matching Affinity adds its stated bonus. A non-matching Archetype can still receive the Amp’s standard benefits, so an Affinity match is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Remaining uses. A more useful Amp with few matches left may be worth less than a smaller one that lasts longer.
- Price, limit and expiry. Check these in the Store before spending currency.
Before you equip, check whether the attribute you want is already near its maximum. Boosts cannot push an attribute past its cap, and a boost that is partly wasted still uses up match duration.

How to get Amps
EA lists four routes: the Store, Objectives, Live Game Modes and Featured Bundles. Live Events can also offer Amps, and EA says Amps will refresh regularly.

Store
Some Store items are limited-time or have purchase limits, and expired Amps cannot be bought. Inspect the benefits, Affinity, duration, price, purchase limit and expiry before you buy.

Objectives
Completing Objectives is a reward path that does not require spending currency. Check the in-game Objectives list for what is currently on offer, because which rewards appear depends on the live schedule.
Live Game Modes and Live Events
Themed Live Events can include Amps. Because these are time-bound, an Amp you see in one event may not return.

Featured Bundles and editions
EA’s FC 27 editions and release dates page, published July 23, 2026, lists a Mbappé-inspired Tier 3 Amp among the content included with specified editions and pre-order packages. That offer is tied to purchase terms and dates on EA’s edition page, so confirm it on the live purchase page for your platform before you assume you can get it.

How to equip an Amp
- Open Archetypes and select the Amps tab.
- Choose an open slot and inspect each candidate’s tier, attributes, PlayStyle or perk, Affinity, duration and availability.
- Prefer an Affinity that matches the active Archetype if its extra bonus helps the build.
- Check that the attribute you want is not already at its cap.
- Equip the Amp to the Archetype you plan to use. EA states there is one Signature Amp slot and two Standard Amp slots.
How Amp uses and expiry work
Amps run out by eligible match use rather than by time. Finishing an eligible match uses one. Intentionally disconnecting also uses one. You can unequip an Amp before it runs out. It returns to your inventory with its remaining uses, and you can equip it again later.
Amps are disabled in some activities, including Kickabouts. A Kickabout does not consume a use, so there is no value in equipping an Amp for one.
Platforms
The Grounds is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. It is not available on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, so readers on those consoles cannot use these Amps. (Source: EA’s FC 27 editions and release dates page.)
Launch-era limits to keep in mind
EA’s launch statements said that at launch, Amps would not provide PlayStyle+. The Help article’s tier description, however, lists PlayStyle+ as a possible effect. Treat the launch restriction as time-bound, and rely on the item panel for whether a specific Amp includes PlayStyle+.
