The reported rise in Expand Energy’s consensus price target to MX$2,414.06, or 16.44%, is not independently verified by the available analyst data. The origin, observation date, and conversion method for that headline figure are unknown. Other providers show rolling 12-month targets in U.S. dollars, and their figures differ by sample and calculation method.

What the MX$2,414.06 headline does—and does not—establish

The figures MX$2,414.06 and 16.44% should be treated as claims from the headline, not as a confirmed current consensus. The originating publisher and observation date have not been established, and available sources do not show how a U.S.-dollar analyst target might have been converted into Mexican pesos. Without the original source and a dated exchange rate, the conversion cannot be checked.

A consensus price target is an aggregation of analysts’ estimates. It is neither a target issued by Expand Energy nor a promised share price, guaranteed forecast, or assured return. The company’s investor-relations materials provide company-reported information, not validation of analysts’ estimates. Its events and presentations page lists a second-quarter 2026 earnings call on July 29, 2026, along with related materials. Expand Energy’s proxy materials describe it as a North American natural-gas producer.

How other providers’ U.S.-dollar targets compare

Two surfaced provider snapshots give different summaries. They are not a conversion or confirmation of the MX$2,414.06 headline figure.

Provider Measure and horizon Analyst count Low–high range Currency
Investing.com Average 12-month target 27 US$93–US$160 U.S. dollars (USD)
Financial Times market data Median 12-month target 24 US$93–US$160 U.S. dollars (USD)

These are provider-specific snapshots surfaced at different times, not a single, synchronized market reading. The difference between an average and a median, as well as each provider’s analyst sample and update window, can change the reported consensus. The figures should not be combined into a new average, and they may become stale as analysts revise estimates.

Why consensus figures differ

“Consensus” does not identify one universal calculation. Before comparing targets, check the provider’s date, horizon, currency, analyst count, inclusion window, statistic, and low-to-high range. A page may show a mean while another shows a median, or draw on a different set of recent analyst estimates. Those differences make provider values distinct summaries rather than interchangeable readings.

Listing and quotation currency also do not prove target currency. MarketScreener’s Mexican S.E. page supplies Mexican-exchange quotation context, while analyst summaries surfaced by providers are in USD. That does not establish the exchange rate or calculation used for the headline’s peso figure.

How to interpret a target revision

  • Check provenance: identify who published the target and when it was observed. The headline’s origin and date are not established here.
  • Keep currencies explicit: do not compare an MXN-denominated figure with USD targets as though they were the same number.
  • Read the methodology: distinguish a mean from a median and check the analyst count and inclusion window.
  • Use company materials for company facts: earnings releases, presentations, and filings report company information; they do not certify third-party analyst estimates.
  • Treat targets as estimates: they can change and do not determine what a share will trade for.
