On Philips TV models covered by the manufacturer’s instructions, open Settings > About > Restart, press and release OK, then choose Restart on the confirmation screen. Do not hold OK: a press longer than 2.0 seconds can offer to restart the TV in Safe Mode.
How to turn off Safe Mode
- Using the TV remote, open Settings > About > Restart.
- Press and release OK briefly. Do not hold the button down.
- When the confirmation screen appears, select Restart.
The TV should restart out of Safe Mode. Philips lists this procedure for particular models in its Safe Mode support article, published December 10, 2021.
If a Safe Mode prompt appears instead
Philips says holding OK for more than 2.0 seconds can bring up an option to reboot into Safe Mode. If you see that prompt while trying to exit, select Cancel, then repeat the steps above with a brief press and release of OK.

Why the TV displays Safe Mode
Philips describes Safe Mode as a way to troubleshoot applications. While it is active, third-party apps are temporarily disabled.

Philips-branded TVs can have different model-specific menus, so this exact path is not established for every Philips TV or software version. If your model is not listed, or the menu labels differ, use the Philips support page for your exact model rather than guessing at another reset or restart method.
