The Electrolux EHI955BE is a 90cm, five-zone induction cooktop with SenseFry, a central MaxiZone, Bridge, PowerBoost and Hob2Hood. Its official specifications establish the layout, controls and installation dimensions, but they do not establish how well it cooks compared with competing models. CHOICE lists the model as tested, but its detailed rating and results are available to members only. This review separates the documented features from what public evidence can—and cannot—tell you.

Is the Electrolux EHI955BE any good?

It is a feature-rich option to consider if you need a wide, five-zone induction cooktop and have the space and electrical capacity for it. Electrolux lists a flexible Bridge function, a large central zone and automatic controls alongside familiar safety and convenience features. Those are manufacturer specifications, not independent proof of cooking performance.

CHOICE’s public listing labels the EHI955BE as tested from 2024 onward, but its Expert Rating and detailed test information are member-only. The public page displays A$2,599, but also says it has no current price links; treat that as a displayed listing figure, not a current retailer quote. CHOICE’s EHI955BE page.

Customer review figures are snapshots from separate sites, not laboratory results or a combined sample. Electrolux Australia’s product page displayed 4.7 from 144 reviews in a 2026 search result, while Andoo’s 2026 listing showed 129 reviews: 115 five-star, 10 four-star, two three-star, no two-star and two one-star. Counts can change, and neither figure demonstrates comparative performance. Electrolux Australia’s product page; Andoo’s listing.

What the named cooking functions mean

  • SenseFry: Electrolux says it measures heat and automatically adjusts it beneath the pan. The manufacturer describes this as a way to maintain an ideal temperature for even cooking; it is a feature claim, not an independently verified result.
  • Bridge: combines two zones to create a larger cooking surface, according to Electrolux.
  • PowerBoost: provides an intense boost before dropping to the highest power setting, as Electrolux describes it.
  • Hob2Hood: can automatically switch on and adjust a compatible extractor hood, according to the manufacturer.

The product page also lists a timer and minute minder, automatic warm-up, keep-warm, Stop + Go, automatic pot detection, child lock, safety cut-off, overheating protection and residual-heat indicators. These specifications describe available functions; they do not show how consistently they perform in everyday cooking. Electrolux Australia; Electrolux New Zealand.

Does the EHI955BE work with your pans?

Induction requires cookware with a magnetic base. Appliances Online states that induction cooktops are compatible only with cookware made from magnetic material. A simple preliminary check is whether a magnet sticks firmly to the pan’s base. Compatibility alone does not confirm that a pan’s base suits a particular zone: check the current EHI955BE manual for the recommended cookware dimensions and placement, especially for the centre MaxiZone. What is known about the warranty?

Published warranty information is inconsistent for Australian buyers. Electrolux’s Australian product page lists domestic warranty details as three years, while an older Australian fact sheet says two years. Electrolux New Zealand lists three years for purchases made after 1 March 2026, which is a New Zealand term and does not resolve the Australian warranty. Check the warranty documentation that applies to your purchase date and location directly with Electrolux before buying. Electrolux Australia; Electrolux New Zealand.

Who should consider it?

The EHI955BE merits consideration if a 90cm cooktop, five cooking zones, a bridge function and a large central zone fit your kitchen and cooking needs. Before committing, verify the cut-out, hardwired electrical requirements, cookware compatibility and applicable warranty. If independent comparative performance is decisive, the public information available here is insufficient to rank it against alternatives; CHOICE’s detailed rating is member-only, and no public performance score is established.
