The Electrolux EBE5307BC-L is a dark stainless steel, bottom-freezer refrigerator with 496 L of standardized capacity, or 529 L gross capacity. Electrolux lists useful storage and cooling features, but CHOICE marks the model discontinued and its publicly visible review does not disclose test results. Treat availability and independent performance as unconfirmed until you check with a retailer and consult the full review if you have access.
What the EBE5307BC-L offers
Electrolux describes the EBE5307BC-L as an UltimateTaste 500 bottom-mount refrigerator with frost-free cooling, an inverter compressor and R600a refrigerant. Its controls are internal electronic touch controls. The listed layout includes a full-width telescopic deli compartment, deep and shallow door bins, adjustable FlexStor shelves and door bins, and two twist-and-serve ice units.
Storage and cooling features
- TasteLock: humidity-controlled crisper drawers.
- EvenTemp and FreshPlus: manufacturer-described cooling features; these are product claims, not independent performance findings.
- MultiZone: a deli compartment intended for flexible storage.
- TasteGuard: a deodoriser.
- Fast Ice and Boost Mode: Electrolux says, “After a large shop, Boost Mode increases the chill rate of the refrigerator for 90 minutes whilst the Fast Ice function lowers the freezer to -23C for 12 hours, before returning to their pre-set temperatures, to ensure your produce stays fresher longer.” This is the manufacturer’s description, not a verified test result.
Other listed functions include holiday and eco modes, a drink-chill alarm, a freezer temperature alarm and a refrigerator door alarm.

Electrolux lists 496 L total capacity under AS/NZS 4474.1 2007 / IEC 62552-2015: 351 L for the food compartment and 145 L for the freezer. Separately, it gives gross compartment volumes of 362 L and 167 L, totaling 529 L. These figures use different measurement bases, so the 529 L gross figure is not additional usable capacity and should not be compared directly with another model’s standardized total.

Will it fit your kitchen?
The overall dimensions are 796 mm wide, 773 mm deep and 1,725 mm high. Electrolux gives cabinet dimensions of 790 mm wide, 641 mm deep and 1,705 mm high. With the door open to 90 degrees, the listed depth is 1,457 mm. The doors sit proud of cabinetry, so measuring only the cabinet recess will not establish whether the fridge fits or whether the doors can open fully.
Check the opening and airflow
Electrolux’s September 2021 bottom-mount dimension guide recommends minimum airspaces of 30 mm at the sides and 50 mm above and behind for the EBE5307BC family. It notes that some circumstances require greater top clearance and directs users to the supplied manual for authoritative installation instructions. A corner location may also require clearance on the hinge side so bins and shelves can be removed.
- Measure the intended recess, including the recommended ventilation gaps and any protruding handles or doors.
- Check door swing and access to drawers and shelves, especially beside a wall or tall cabinet.
- Measure the full delivery route—doorways, halls, turns and stairs—not just the kitchen space.
Use the Electrolux bottom-mount refrigeration dimension guide and the model’s supplied manual before installation.

Electrolux’s product specification gives several energy figures on different bases: 310 kWh/year under AS/NZS 4474.1 2007 / IEC 62552-2015, and 323 kWh/year with 4.5 stars under AS/NZS 4474.2:2009. The product page also lists a 5-star rating under its explanation of the newer capacity and energy-rating basis. Electrolux says refrigerator capacity and energy ratings changed from 15 August 2021. Compare star ratings and annual kWh only when the underlying standard is the same; figures from different bases are not directly interchangeable.
What independent testing says—and does not say
CHOICE identifies a 2021 test year and labels the EBE5307BC-L discontinued. Its publicly visible page discloses specifications including a 4.5-star rating, claimed 323 kWh/year, a two-year warranty and Thailand as the country of origin. The expert rating, recommendation and results for temperature stability, evenness and range, freshness, noise, running cost, reliability and owner satisfaction are member-only. The available information therefore does not establish whether the fridge performed well or poorly in CHOICE’s tests.

CHOICE’s page displays a $2,499 price, but that is not evidence of a current selling price. Check the CHOICE EBE5307BC-L review page for its current display and membership access, and ask retailers directly about stock. A discontinued label does not prove that no remaining stock exists, but availability is unresolved.

Electrolux lists a two-year domestic warranty, plus three additional years covering the sealed refrigeration system only. Confirm the applicable warranty terms for the particular appliance and purchase rather than assuming the extra coverage applies to every component.
Electrolux’s Australian parts shop lists an air channel complete, part 140007489085, and names EBE5307BC-L among compatible models. The listing asks customers to verify fit by model or PNC. Check the appliance rating plate and confirm compatibility with Electrolux before ordering; compatibility for this named part does not establish that other parts for related models will fit.
How to decide whether to buy one
This model is worth considering if its dimensions and storage layout suit your kitchen and you can verify the unit’s condition, warranty and genuine availability. Because it is marked discontinued and the accessible independent review does not reveal performance outcomes, do not treat the manufacturer’s feature descriptions as a substitute for test results.
If comparing it with another fridge, line up standardized capacity with standardized capacity, external dimensions and door clearance, airflow requirements, energy figures under the same standard, and storage layout. Also compare disclosed independent temperature performance, noise, reliability and running costs, then check current stock, warranty and price. No alternative model is assessed here, so there is no evidence-based winner in a comparison.
