It combines power electronics, a charger control and communications unit, and remote-management software. The vendor describes a one-gun, 30 kW typical design for commercial and public charging; it is a development platform, not an identified retail charger or proof of a deployed charging network.
What is eInfochips’ DC fast charger reference design?
A reference design is a reusable set of hardware and software building blocks that manufacturers can adapt when developing their own products. eInfochips and Arrow describe this design as a way to reduce design-cycle risk and accelerate development—not as a ready-to-install consumer charger.
The design was shown as a live demo at Embedded World 2024, held April 9–11 in Nuremberg, Germany. Embedded.com’s event recap says it was developed at eInfochips’ Swindon facility in the UK. eInfochips positions it for small and mid-sized commercial and public charging sites, including shopping malls, parking facilities, retail outlets, and offices. That positioning is not a site-specific suitability or jurisdictional approval.
What does the reference design include?
The design is described as three connected blocks: conversion and delivery of electrical power, a control unit that handles the user interface and communications, and software for remote operations.

Power module
The power module handles power conversion, energy metering, output delivery, and electrical protections. The separate design article describes an intelligent 32-bit microcontroller in the module and isolated CAN communication between it and the SECC unit.
SECC control and user interface
The Supply Equipment Communication Controller (SECC) provides the human-machine interface and communication between charger electronics, the vehicle, and the backend. eInfochips describes it as a bridge between the charger’s power electronics and the vehicle battery-management system. Its design article lists a multicore ARM Cortex processor, a 10-inch LCD rated at 1,000 nits, RFID/NFC authentication, status LEDs, and charging-contact temperature sensing.

Remote management
The vendor describes a web-based charger-management platform and a driver mobile app for remote operations. Its materials use both the names EVWER and Conxero EV; they do not establish which brand or service is currently marketed or available.

Which charging and communications standards does it name?
The brochure names CCS1/CCS2 as supported charging interfaces, ISO 15118 and IEC 61851-23/-24 for vehicle communication, and OCPP 1.6J for network communication. These are the standards and interfaces stated in the design materials; their inclusion does not by itself establish certification, interoperability in every configuration, or approval for a particular market.
The brochure says CE, FCC, UL, IEC, RoHS, and REACH compliance are targeted. It does not establish that those certifications or compliance assessments have been completed. The available materials also do not resolve deployment approval by geography.

How should the performance claims be interpreted?
The greater-than-98% full-load efficiency, power factor, harmonic distortion, output, and environmental figures are vendor-published specifications. No independent performance test report, field reliability data, or third-party certification record was identified in the available sources. The figures therefore should not be read as independently verified operating results or a guarantee for a finished product built from the design.
Arrow Electronics Vice President of Global Engineering and Design Services Murdoch Fitzgerald is quoted on eInfochips’ design page describing the reference design as a way to de-risk design cycles and accelerate design and time to market. That is a vendor-published statement about the design’s intended value, not independent evidence that those outcomes have been achieved.

What to verify before choosing a reference design
For an engineering team evaluating this platform, the brochure is a starting point rather than a substitute for project-specific design review. Confirm the implementation details that determine whether a design can be adapted and deployed in the intended market.
