It is best evaluated as facility-level power equipment, not a plug-in rack UPS. The specifications below are Eaton’s published figures, not independent test results.
What the Eaton 9PX11KG2 is
The 9PX11KG2 is a 4U rack/tower UPS using online double-conversion topology. Eaton specifies 11,000 VA and 11,000 W output, a default output of 208 V, true sine-wave output, and a power factor of 1.0. Eaton lists selectable nominal output voltages from 200 V through 250 V and a steady-state output voltage range of ±1%. These are manufacturer specifications, not measurements from an independent test. Eaton’s US product page provides the product listing.
Will it fit your load and electrical setup?
Capacity and voltage
The unit is rated for loads up to 11 kW / 11 kVA, but the nameplate capacity alone does not establish how long it will support your equipment. Confirm the connected load in watts, the required output voltage, and compatibility with the UPS’s output configuration before selecting it. The default output is 208 V; Eaton lists selectable nominal voltages from 200 V to 250 V. Its 1.0 output power factor means the published watt and VA ratings are equal.
Hardwired input and receptacles
Eaton lists a hardwired input and four L6-30R output receptacles. It recommends an 80 A input breaker at 100% load, or 70 A when the UPS load is below 90%. This is not a standard plug-in installation: have qualified electrical personnel confirm the facility supply, breaker, wiring, grounding, and local code requirements. Do not treat the breaker figures as a DIY wiring guide.

Rack space, dimensions, and weight
The chassis occupies 4U and measures 28.5 inches deep, 17.32 inches wide, and 6.85 inches high on Eaton’s product page. Eaton lists the weight as 173.72 lb. Its technical document rounds the dimensions to 6.8 × 17.3 × 28.6 inches and the weight to 173.7 lb. Check rack depth, rail and mounting compatibility, floor or rack load limits, and a safe lifting plan before installation. Eaton’s technical specifications contain the rounded figures.
How long will it run during an outage?
Eaton lists 3.1 minutes at an 11,000 W load and 9.4 minutes at half load. These are Eaton-published runtime figures, not independently measured results. They indicate a short bridge for orderly shutdown or transfer to another power source, rather than long-duration backup at these loads.

Your actual runtime depends on the load and battery configuration. Compare the published figures with the real wattage of the protected equipment and the time needed for your shutdown or backup-power sequence. Eaton supports up to 12 compatible extended battery modules, model 9PXEBM240RTG2, for longer runtime; the runtime figures above should not be assumed to apply unchanged after adding modules.
Battery type and expansion
This 9PX11KG2 uses valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries. Eaton specifies hot-swappable internal batteries and replacement battery part EBP-2003, with two required per UPS. For additional battery capacity, Eaton lists support for up to 12 9PXEBM240RTG2 extended battery modules.

Do not confuse this unit with the 9PX11KG2-L. Eaton identifies that as a separate lithium-ion model; the 9PX11KG2 reviewed here is the VRLA version. Battery chemistry and model identifiers matter when comparing maintenance needs or ordering compatible replacement and expansion hardware. Efficiency, output quality, and noise
Eaton lists maximum-load efficiency of 97%. This is a manufacturer specification, not an independently verified efficiency measurement. Eaton also specifies true sine-wave output, which describes the output waveform; it does not by itself establish runtime or efficiency in a particular installation.

Eaton lists noise at no more than 54 dB at 100% load and below 38 dB at 66% load, measured at one meter in online mode and below 87°F. Those conditions matter: the figures should not be generalized to other loads, distances, temperatures, or operating modes. Eaton’s technical specifications include these published values.

Eaton lists a NETWORK-M3 Gigabit network card as included. The product listing describes remote access and control, compatibility with the Brightlayer Data Centers suite, a graphical display, and two Mini-Slot expansion ports. These features make the unit more suitable for managed infrastructure than a basic battery backup, though their value depends on the monitoring and control systems already in use at the site.

The US product page lists a three-year limited warranty. Warranty and service terms may differ by geography and sales channel, so confirm the terms that apply to the specific unit and location before purchase.
Who should consider the 9PX11KG2?
- Consider it if the facility needs an 11 kW / 11 kVA online UPS, can support its hardwired input and output arrangement, has room for a 4U chassis nearly 29 inches deep, and can safely accommodate a unit listed at about 174 lb.
- Plan battery capacity around the actual outage requirement. Eaton’s published base runtime is 3.1 minutes at full load; evaluate compatible EBMs if your equipment needs more time.
- Compare alternatives carefully if you need a different voltage or outlet setup, longer runtime without expansion, a smaller or lighter chassis, or another battery chemistry. The lithium-ion 9PX11KG2-L is a separate product, not a battery option for this VRLA model.
- Confirm the full installation with qualified electrical and rack-installation personnel before ordering. The hardwired connection, breaker recommendations, chassis dimensions, and weight make facility readiness central to the decision.
