Droid ASC is a command-line front end for querying and selectively decompiling Android APKs. Its author says it can search references and extract target classes faster than JADX in reported tests, and describes using it to analyze more than 10 APKs in parallel. Those are project claims, not independently verified results: the available sources do not establish a reproducible, apples-to-apples benchmark.
For a researcher deciding whether to try ASC, the key distinction is workflow. ASC is presented as an on-demand tool for targeted questions; JADX remains the comparator in claims about speed, but the sources do not establish that ASC replaces JADX for every decompilation task.
What Droid ASC does
Droid ASC is an Android decompiler front end intended for agents and mobile researchers. Its project description calls it a “super FAST Android decompiler front-end designed for Agents/Mobile Researchers.” In practical terms, its documented command-line operations let a user inspect selected parts of an APK rather than necessarily decompiling the entire application first.
listclasslists classes in the APK.getclassextracts and decompiles a selected class.getmanifestdecodes the Android manifest.findrefssearches references to strings, types, methods, or fields.
The repository acknowledges Androguard as the Android reverse-engineering and DEX-analysis foundation used by ASC. Installation instructions and command details are maintained in the ASC GitHub repository.

- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
How ASC is designed to work
According to the project, ASC aims to answer targeted questions without first fully inflating an APK and building broad indexes. Its described implementation probes within the Deflate stream, uses patterns the author attributes to R8’s output layout, maps bytecode offsets to methods with a claimed constant-time primitive, and reconstructs a minimal DEX in memory when it finds a target. These are descriptions of the project’s approach, not an independent technical evaluation.
This design is suited to questions such as “Which classes refer to this method?” or “Can I inspect this class?” It does not, by itself, establish that ASC is a drop-in replacement for a full-project decompiler workflow. The answer depends on whether its selective results provide the code and context a particular analysis needs.

- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
What the speed claims actually show
WeiMin Cheng’s September 21, 2026 DEV article reports global cross-reference searches taking about 400 milliseconds on an approximately 50 MB APK and 1.79 seconds on a 300 MB APK, describing these results as 41 and 269 times faster than JADX, respectively. The article does not establish an independently reproduced comparison or a complete protocol that would let readers treat those multipliers as general performance guarantees.
The project repository separately describes a demonstration on a 352 MB commercial APK: a global cross-reference search in 1.79 seconds, target-class decompilation in 177 milliseconds, and 141 MB of RAM. Those figures are project-reported demonstration results; they should not be conflated with the DEV article’s 300 MB comparison.

No independently published benchmark or external technical evaluation confirming ASC’s reported speed and memory comparisons is established in the cited material. Results can depend on the machine, software versions, APK, task definition, and output requirements, details not fully established by the reports. The figures are useful as a reason to test ASC on a relevant workload, not as proof that it will be faster for every APK or every job.
Does ASC replace JADX or JADX MCP?
The title’s replacement claim is personal: Cheng says ASC replaced JADX MCP in his own workflow. That does not demonstrate that ASC replaces JADX itself, or that other users will get the same result. The documented ASC tasks emphasize reference search, manifest decoding, class listing, and selective class extraction. The reports do not provide a broad comparison of whole-project decompilation, code readability, completeness, edge cases, or output compatibility.

A fair comparison should separate three different jobs:
- Whole-project inspection: Compare how much of the APK is decoded and how useful the resulting code and project context are.
- Global reference search: Run the same query against the same APK and count elapsed time, memory use, and whether each tool returns the expected references.
- Targeted class extraction: Request the same class and compare the resulting code for completeness and usefulness, not only the time taken.
For an apples-to-apples test, use the same APK, machine, tool versions, and task; record failed runs as well as successful ones. The sources do not supply a complete independent comparison dataset or reproducibility protocol.

What the parallel-analysis account establishes
Cheng’s DEV article recounts a two-day pipeline that analyzed nearly 100 APK, JAR, and APEX files on a Xiaomi device, and attributes several security findings to that work. This is the author’s account; the cited material does not independently validate the findings or establish that another device and workload would produce the same throughput. Treat the security results as reported by the author, not as confirmed advisories.
Parallel analysis may be useful when a workflow has many independent files, but the report does not provide enough detail to infer a general per-device capacity or expected completion time. For authorized security research, verify findings against the original application and document the tool versions, files, and steps used.
How to decide whether to try ASC
- Try ASC when your main task is finding references or extracting a limited set of classes, and avoiding whole-APK preprocessing could matter.
- Keep JADX in the workflow when you need a broader decompilation view or have not confirmed that ASC’s selective output covers your needs.
- Benchmark with your own APKs and repeat the specific task you care about; report output quality and memory alongside elapsed time.
- Use both tools on sensitive findings until you have independently checked that the relevant code and references are present.
The official Black Hat Europe 2026 Arsenal schedule page retrieved for this topic displayed “No sessions found,” so it does not verify the DEV article’s statement that ASC was accepted into the 2026 Arsenal.
