Dressmaker is a paid dressmaking simulation from Cozy Lives and publisher Free Lives. It reached ninth place on Steam’s global Top Sellers chart the day after its September 21, 2026 release, and Steam’s retrieved store snapshot showed an “Overwhelmingly Positive” English review rating. Both rankings and reviews are snapshots that can change.
What is Dressmaker?
Dressmaker is a casual simulation game about running a dressmaking shop. Players choose fabric, arrange and cut patterns, sew garments, and decorate their creations. Steam describes the experience as cozy crafting inspired by real dressmaking, with townsfolk who can be satisfied—or sabotaged—through the player’s choices. It is a paid digital game on Steam; the retrieved US store listing showed a price of $14.99.
The game’s simulated workflow may appeal to people curious about garment-making, but its store description establishes a game experience, not a real-world sewing course or set of sewing instructions.

GamesRadar reported on September 22, 2026, that Dressmaker was ninth on Steam’s global Top Sellers list, one day after launch. That is a dated launch-period rank, not a claim that it remains in ninth place.

In a later 2026 snapshot, third-party tracker SteamDB showed the game at #20 in top sellers. SteamDB also recorded an all-time peak of 35,650 concurrent players on September 27, 2026. Neither a chart position nor a concurrent-player peak is a sales total, so these figures do not establish how many copies the game sold.
What do players think of Dressmaker?
Steam’s retrieved store listing showed 98% positive from 6,017 English reviews and labeled the response “Overwhelmingly Positive.” GamesRadar also reported a 96% positive review snapshot on September 22, then a 98% “Overwhelmingly Positive” score in coverage dated September 28, 2026. These are time-sensitive snapshots, and review totals or percentages can change.
Rank #2
- 17 built-in stitches
- 4-step buttonhole style
- Reverse button
- Free arm for sewing
- LED lighting for the work area
SteamDB’s later snapshot counted 7,740 reviews across its displayed data. That total is not directly interchangeable with Steam’s English-review count: the source and review set differ.

The launch-period chart placement and strong review snapshots show that Dressmaker attracted attention soon after release. They do not, by themselves, establish long-term popularity, lifetime sales, or how well the game teaches practical dressmaking.

Steam’s page features a five-star review blurb attributed to Screenhub: “Dressmaker is a triumph of original game design that offers limitless ways to complete creative quests.” That is one publication’s assessment, rather than a developer statement or a guarantee that every player will enjoy the game.
