Save one photo
Open the image and tap its Download icon. Provide your email and PIN if requested, then select a size and destination. On iPhone, Pixieset opens a browser window with instructions to long-press the photo to save it. On Android, the photo downloads immediately. Google Photos and Dropbox may appear as destination choices and require you to sign in.
Choose the right download size
The size menu determines how large the downloaded file is and whether it retains the uploaded resolution. Pixieset documents these photo options; availability depends on the collection settings and, for Original, the gallery plan.

| Option | What it means | Best suited to |
|---|---|---|
| 640px, 1024px or 2048px | Web-size files; smaller than high-resolution downloads. | Sharing or quick viewing. |
| 3600px | High-resolution option capped at 3600px on the long edge. Pixieset does not enlarge a smaller uploaded original to reach this size. | A high-resolution copy when Original is not needed or available. |
| Original | The uploaded file without resizing or compression. It may take longer to download and use more storage. | Keeping the uploaded file at its original resolution. |
These specifications are listed in Pixieset’s available download resolutions guidance. A file that looks smaller than expected may simply have been downloaded at a web size or at 3600px rather than Original.

Pixieset assigns collections a four-digit Download PIN by default. The collection owner can view, change or deactivate it. The owner can also enable or disable photo downloads and control gallery-wide and single-photo downloading separately. If the Download control is missing, a size you need is not offered, or you do not have the PIN, contact the photographer or gallery owner and ask them to check the collection’s Download settings. Pixieset explains these controls in its collection download settings.

Open a downloaded ZIP file
A full-gallery download is packaged as a ZIP archive. Pixieset’s ZIP troubleshooting guide gives these built-in extraction steps:
- Mac: Double-click the ZIP file.
- Windows: Right-click the ZIP and select Extract All or Extract Here.
If the extracted folder is empty or photos are missing, Pixieset identifies special characters in filenames as one possible Windows issue. Another possibility is that collection sets were marked unavailable for download. Ask the gallery owner to review the filenames and download settings.

If the gallery asks you to buy a download
A Store purchase is separate from a free or session-included gallery download. Pixieset says Store digital downloads are sent by email after purchase, and the download link expires after seven days. The seller can resend the files. This applies when the gallery presents a Store or Buy option; it is not the same as downloading a collection through its regular Download control.
