Some Samsung Galaxy A12 models have NFC, and some do not. Samsung lists NFC on its US Verizon configuration, but lists it as absent on the cited Galaxy A12 models for the Gulf and Australian markets. Check your phone’s full model number and the Samsung specifications for its market or carrier before relying on NFC.
Why Galaxy A12 NFC support varies
“Galaxy A12” names a family of phones, not one specification shared by every region and carrier. Samsung’s US Verizon Galaxy A12 SM-A125U support listing says NFC is present. By contrast, Samsung lists NFC as absent for the Gulf SM-A127F/DS and the Australian SM-A127FZKIXSA.
Samsung’s 2021 US Galaxy A series announcement includes NFC in the US product specifications and cautions that specifications may differ by model, color, market, and carrier. The regional examples above therefore establish that variants differ; they do not determine NFC availability for every A127 model worldwide.
How to check whether your A12 has NFC
- Find the phone’s complete model number in its device information or on its packaging.
- Identify the country or region where the phone was sold and whether it is a carrier configuration.
- Open the Samsung product specification page for that exact model and market, then check the NFC field. Do not infer support from the A12 name, appearance, or storage capacity, or from a listing for another region.
For the A125 configuration covered by Samsung’s user guide, the NFC control is at Settings > Connections > NFC and payment. If your phone has that setting, tap it to turn NFC on. The guide’s instructions are for the covered A125 configuration; use the exact model’s specifications to confirm hardware support.

What NFC can do on a supported Galaxy A12
Samsung’s Galaxy A12 A125 user manual describes NFC as short-range communication with another NFC-capable device, including certain payment-app uses, Android Beam sharing, and tapping to pay with a compatible reader. For the interactions described in the manual, the other device must support NFC and be within four centimeters.
NFC hardware alone does not guarantee that a bank, card, payment app, issuer, or regional payment service will work. Check the requirements and availability of the specific payment service and issuer you intend to use.

Can NFC tags add NFC to an A12?
No. Tags work only when the phone itself has NFC hardware. On supported A12 hardware, the manual documents using NFC tags with Voice Label, and says the tags are not included. An NFC tag can be an optional accessory for that use, but it cannot retrofit NFC into a variant whose specifications say NFC is absent.
