How should you interpret accreditation and recognition?
McAfee Institute says it is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET). Its materials also list NICCS, DoD COOL and other recognition or catalog information. Those claims may matter when assessing a program, but accreditation or a catalog listing does not establish universal employer acceptance.
The provider explicitly says that completing training does not guarantee employment, promotion, security-clearance eligibility or acceptance by an agency or third party. Which option should you choose?
- Choose CECI if your goal is structured learning in cyber investigations and related forensic or case-development work.
- Choose C|OSINT if you want training specifically in collecting and analyzing open-source intelligence.
- Look elsewhere for ethical-hacking training if you need a credential explicitly centered on authorized penetration testing or security testing. Neither program’s official page describes that as its credential focus.
