ExitLag does not automatically increase FPS through its core routing service. That service is designed to improve the network route between your device and a game server, which may affect ping or connection stability. ExitLag separately advertises an FPS Boost feature that changes operating-system settings, but the available sources do not establish a typical frame-rate gain or verify its results independently.
What ExitLag’s core service is designed to do
ExitLag describes its main service as operating between your internet connection and a game’s servers to seek better network routes. The ExitLag Help Center says it works “without interfering with the game itself” (ExitLag Help Center). This describes the intended operation; it is not a guarantee that every player will get lower ping.
Routing is relevant to network measures such as latency (ping), packet loss, and connection stability. It does not, by itself, make a computer’s graphics hardware render more frames.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →FPS and ping measure different things
FPS, or frames per second, measures how many frames the computer renders. It is primarily affected by factors such as the game’s graphics workload and the capabilities and current load of the PC’s hardware. Ping measures the time it takes for data to travel between your device and a server. A lower ping may make a game feel more responsive, but that is not the same as a higher rendered frame rate.

- Blazing-fast WiFi 7 boosts tri-band throughput up to 12000 Mbps with 320 MHz channels of 6 GHz band, Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and 4K-QAM
- Powerful wired network capacity of up to 20G with one 2.5G WAN port and seven 2.5G LAN ports.
- High-performance quad-core 2.0GHz CPU with robust cooling, 2GB RAM and eight internal antennas providing up to 3000 sq. ft. of range.
- Smart Home Master makes it easy to set up functional subnetwork (up to 3 SSIDs) for IoT devices and VPNs
- ROG-exclusive Gaming Network streamlines Triple-Level Game Acceleration setup and connections through convenient SSIDs
Likewise, fewer network-related interruptions may make play feel smoother without changing the FPS counter. To determine whether frame rate actually changed, measure FPS rather than relying on how a session feels.
What ExitLag says about its separate FPS Boost feature
ExitLag lists FPS Boost separately from its routing features. The company says this feature uses operating-system settings that may increase FPS (ExitLag features). That is a vendor claim, not an independently verified result: the available feature description does not report a measured gain or specify what change a particular PC should achieve.

- Beyond-fast WiFi 7 (802.11be) with new 320MHz channels in the 6 GHz band and 4096-QAM significantly increases network capacity and throughput, with speeds of up to 30 Gbps
- Multi-link Operation links to multiple bands at the same time to ensure stable internet connections and efficient data transfers
- Cutting-edge external dual-feeding antennas boost coverage by providing high efficiency and significantly enhanced signal strength
- Maximized wired connectivity and flexibility with dual 10G ports and quad 2.5G ports
- Triple-Level Game Acceleration - The GT-BE98 Pro boosts your PC gaming traffic every step of the way, from your PC gaming port all the way to the game server.
ExitLag’s own guide also says its service will not increase FPS when the cause is a hardware limitation, while distinguishing network-related stuttering or lag (ExitLag’s guide to FPS and network performance). Taken together, the claims describe two different possibilities: routing may affect network behavior, while FPS Boost may affect system settings. Neither establishes a reliable frame-rate increase for every PC.

How to check whether FPS Boost helps your PC
There is no independent controlled benchmark in the sources cited here that quantifies a typical FPS change. You can compare the feature on your own system with a repeatable before-and-after test:

- Choose a game and a repeatable scene, such as a built-in benchmark or the same save point.
- Keep the game’s graphics settings, resolution, frame cap, and other relevant PC conditions the same for both runs.
- Record FPS with ExitLag’s FPS Boost off, then repeat the same scene with it on. Use the same measurement method each time.
- Compare the results across more than one run. Also note any stutter or network symptoms separately; they do not prove that rendered FPS changed.
This is a way to evaluate your own setup, not a result established for ExitLag generally. If the FPS readings do not change consistently, the feature has not demonstrated a frame-rate benefit under those test conditions.

When ExitLag may be relevant
- Consider the routing function if you are investigating high ping, packet loss, or connection instability. Measure those network symptoms before and after; a routing change is not a promise of improvement.
- Consider FPS Boost as a separate experiment if you want to see whether its system-setting changes affect frame rate on your PC. Keep the test controlled and judge it by measured FPS.
- Look elsewhere for a hardware-bound FPS problem. ExitLag’s own guidance says the service does not overcome FPS limits caused by hardware.
