Yes—usually. A Super Chat purchased during the original livestream can still count as revenue when the stream is later watched as a replay, provided Google confirms the transaction. YouTube says chat replay shows the original live conversation, and deleting a Super Chat message after the stream does not trigger a refund. YouTube does not state a replay-specific accounting rule in those exact terms, so the key qualification is that the payment must be confirmed by Google.
What a Super Chat in chat replay means
Live chat replay reproduces the conversation alongside the archived stream as it appeared live. A Super Chat visible there represents a purchase made during that original live chat; its appearance in the replay is not evidence that a replay viewer has made a new purchase.

An ordinary livestream archive does not reopen live chat. YouTube says live chat is unavailable after the stream ends, while chat replay displays the earlier conversation. Viewers watching the archive therefore cannot send a new Super Chat through that archived chat.

How much creators receive
YouTube’s current published guidance says creators receive 70% of Supers revenue confirmed by Google. YouTube calculates that share after local sales tax and iOS App Store fees, and says it covers transaction costs such as credit-card fees. The 70% applies to confirmed Supers revenue; it should not be treated as a guaranteed payout for every message visible in chat replay.
For the terms applicable to your own account, check the agreements in YouTube Studio. YouTube’s published guidance is not a substitute for those account-specific terms.

- Open YouTube Studio and go to Analytics.
- Open the Revenue tab.
- Find How you make money and review the Supers reporting.
- For the revenue-share terms tied to your account, open your agreements in Studio.
YouTube identifies Analytics’ Revenue tab and “How you make money” as the place to find Supers reports. A visible replay message and a confirmed revenue entry are different things, so use the reporting and your account agreement when checking an individual payment.

Does deleting the replay message cancel the payment?
No. YouTube says, “Deleting a Super Chat message post-live stream will not result in a refund.” Removing a message from view does not itself erase or reverse the transaction.

Frequently confused cases
- Old Super Chat appears in replay: it is a historical live-chat event. The replay does not create a second purchase.
- Viewer watches the archive and wants to pay: the archived chat is not live, so that viewer cannot send a new Super Chat through it.
- Message appears, but the payment is disputed or unconfirmed: do not assume the message alone proves the creator’s share; YouTube’s stated share concerns revenue confirmed by Google.
- Message is deleted after the broadcast: deletion does not itself produce a refund.
